Agree on the defense and rebouding...but it is not the 3pt shooting that we are talking about but his shooting over all, which was under 40% last year.

    Excuses....a trade like this

Brooks + Fillers and sweeteners for Iggy ....why not?

Then AFTER BROOKS TRADE IS CONFIRMED another PG was needed, Hinrich was my suggestion...but in that trade, some close minded fans like you converted it in a Brooks Hinrich pure exchange.....now you make up an excuse of being funny, trying to cover your ignorance back then...you learned now? fine, but several days ago, you posted such nosesne... bring back the thread if you dare to prove me wrong....

Do you wonder why such teams needed a SG with so great court vision in one case (Manu) and so dominant from outside (despite also having great court vision at will)? ...do the rockets have a SG like those, to make up the severe lack of courtvision of the guy running the point?

And about Scola, at least in the previous reading, it was implied that Scola couldn't create his own shot at all.....anyway... my mainpoint is about many guys implying that AB is better overall player than Scola...not diferences about how ones plays Pf and the other runs the point...Several characteristics regarding size and speed, Scola won't have and will limit him in some stuff not strictly required for his position...but he's CLEARLY a better overall player than Aaron Brooks...and that's the point I defend.

I think listing "basketball intellegence" as some sort of negative in Brook's game is pretty ironic.

Those touting that nonsense don't seem to understand that his role as a guard in our offense is being executed exceptionally. Fit wise, really the only thing that is missing from his game is defense. You want to change our PG...fine...go find one who has the same skillset as Brooks but is a better defender. (which BTW is why I am very pro a Billups acquisition)

If you want to argue that the system is bad and that we should change it by going to a more ball dominant PG system ala Utah, New Orleans or Chicago then more power to you. But that is an issue with Adelman, not Brooks. Management knows this and acquired the pieces that fit within it. If they wanted a "pass first point guard" why wouldn't they pick up Collison when they had the chance? If they wanted a "pass first point guard" why isn't Lowry starting? Like it or not, Brooks is the ideal mold to play in our starting unit's scheme.

Nonsense, I never even commented on the Hinrich bit, I like Hinrich.

You just got all butt hurt and are focusing your tantrum on me.

I like Manu, I am the one who suggested we trade Tmac for him when Tmac was still healthy, but the point still stands, Brooks is good enough, according to Morey...and uh..me.

Fine with me, I love Scola, he and AB are two of my favorite Rockets players right now.

I don't know how much DD really knows about great point play but I trust Morey and Adelman and they both value Brooks quite a bit.

I don't think that trade will work because you can only trade AB for someone who has a similar salary.

Also, who is this Fillers character you speak of?

Hey, you know who else is a flawed player who can't shoot for a PG?

Turn on TNT. He's the best player on the team that has a ring.

IMHO Martin is right, if you're already a complete scorer like him you want another deadly scorer beside you to draw away the D and pick up the slack when you're not playing well. Martin isn't really a catch-and-shoot specialist, so a traditional pg who needs to dominate the ball and make plays for everyone else would just stifle him.

Its also the reason why him and Tyreke Evans couldn't co-exist, while last season Martin and Brooks together scored almost 20 a game each.

brooks has better shooting touches than lowry, that's a fact.
Lowry defends better and rebounds better than brooks, that's fact, too

Overall, brooks and lowry are about even, but if you switch their playing time you will see the flaws in lowry's game a little more than brook's.

most of the people here backing up lowry forgets lowry is not playing substantial minutes on the court. You can't ignore his mediocre shooting percentage just because his defense and rebound, when he plays enough minutes, you will see it, i garantee you that.

Coaches are not stupid, they observe the players in practices and make decisions who starts and who backs up
