Considering contracts and all this deal would be great for houston (of course with melo signing a extension before hand). Scola and martin are not two way players, and altough I like them both melo's impact on the franchise would far exceed what we can achieve with scola and KM. Melo also attracts FA and makes Houston entertaining again.

Any move they make is with that in mind. TMac made the Rox relevant. McG didn't. Melo yes. Scola/Martin no (thus beware of Trojan horses). They may take attention away from CA breaking their hearts by being a Knixie so maybe they'll overpay for good, solid, unheadlinably remarkable players (like ours).
Brooks is more valuable than Martin in the Filipino League which has a strict 6-6-and-under height policy.
Derrick Favors has the exact same measurements as Dwight Howard, and he can actually jump higher. He will be a Center. You trade whatever you have to trade to get him, imo...
If I recall correctly, wasn't Nets seriously was going to sign Scola to an offer sheet last summer before the Rockets stepped in at the last minute and got a deal done with Scola?

call me crazy but i would take favors over lopez... and i really like lopez. i mean, there aren't a lot of 7 footers who can get you 20 points and 2 blocks a night, but i would still prefer the upside of favors.
