ok, I'm now excited and hyped about this thing...Time to dust off the vintage WW2 binoculars and see what all this fuss is about. Dammit, I probably won't see sheet since I live in a hood...
well, I just put together the telescope, and damn my luck...It is cloudy tonight...and I just realized that I have so many trees around here that I may not be able to see it anyway till it reaches it's apex in the middle of the night.. The curse of living in outer suburbia...
I took a look at it last night through our telescope. It was a perfectly clear night with absolutely no breeze. It was a little humid, but that was no problem. It was so cool to see craters and everything on Mars.
By the time it got high enough in the sky for me to see it over the trees, I had about 15 minutes to get my telescope aimed at it....and then the clouds started going by right at the height it was at...I got a momentary glimpse but was never able to get a sharp look at it. Ill try again tonight and hope for the best. Question for anyone else with a telescope....what kind do you have? mine..
