Concur with you,if we can't get Ron. It will be hard since all we can offer is the MLE,and we do need a backup center as well.
I like the idea of having a Daniels-type player to partner Brooks in the backcourt. Someone who can handle the ball and play a little point, while also hold his own guarding SG's. Honestly I haven't watched that much of Daniels since he left Dallas, but am I right in thinking he fits that description?
That's true, but he is an upgrade to Wafer and the other possible replacements that we have.If we can get him cheap plus a decent backup center it would be all right with me. I didn't include an S& T with Ron to Indiana even if the former wants to go back there,because it's highly unlikely that Bird will want to do anything with him. DM could split the MLE on Wafer plus a replacement backup center and let Ron go if he wants to leave. A better option might be to sign Wafer using part of the MLE,and do a sign/trade with Ron for a backup center if he wants to go to another team.
