No one's questioning Singleton's status as a top prospect with a bright future. He has been slumping horribly for about the past month.

5th-youngest player in the Texas League. Singleton will be fine. He's playing terribly? As of late, yes.

His season stats are fine but his June stats were atrocious:

    .148/.317/.235 . I didn't even know a .235 slugging percentage was possible.

He's turning it around in July but he's no where near promotion consideration yet.

Matt Dominguez struggles to hit. That's why he isn't a top prospect anymore, he has gold glove caliber defense at third. The question was always "will he be able to hit" and the question is he hasn't figured It out yet. I see this as a move to get some defense at 3B since CJ sucks

He's 22! He's less than a month older than George Springer. To me it seems like he never got the chance to stay at a given level and make adjustments.

I'd love to see them send him down to Lancaster or Corpus, build some confidence, and put him on a normal development track. He's worth way more as a .280 hitter with GG defense at age 26 than a .220 hitter with GG defense at age 22.

I completely agree it's a defense-related move, there's simply nothing he brings to the table otherwise.

I think the Florida deal was slightly better.

Maybe Dominguez is purely temporary. If Wallace replaces Lee, I would think Dominguez would only be treading water until Marwin Gonzalez is re-activated (though given his performance in the PCL, you'd assume he is ready).
