Let me preface by saying that I'm not interested. Would be a hard guy to get behind and support, but...

If we are looking for a stretch 4, I think he could extend his range to the 3-point line more successfully than either of our two PFs right now. His jumper definitely "looks" more pure.

According to that ESPN Trade Machine, the only trades that work are Ariza for Morris or D-Mo + TJones + Dekker for Morris. No way either of those happen. Only way we'd get him is if he was cut.

Please correct me if there's another trade that'd work, but I don't see it. Everyone else is untouchable or just got signed and can't be traded until December or January

I wasn't too enthralled with kieff either, but he does have a 76% free throw percentage. He would automatically become our best free throw shooting big....by a mile & a half!

Agreed. Only way we acquire Markieff is if Phoenix waived and stretch his salary over 9 seasons ($3.55 million cap hit every season for 9 seasons). For Phoenix to do that they'd have to be very motivated to do that. And we'd only offer him the vet minimum to sign here so another team will most likely offset more than that for him.

So instead of trading for all that salary why don't we just sign the same player (or better player) with the same bad attitude for a minimum salary and virtually no risk.

    Andray Blatche, come on down.

Better talent, better skills, same crappy attitude. $1 million risk instead of $32 million plus traded talent risk.

Bad attitude. Makes much more than Jones (even if he is locked in). Really doesn't do anything special, not an elite defender or a stretch four like we really need. Will probably pout about coming off the bench

The only way I'd pick him up is if we trade both Jones AND DMo. Then it might make sense.

Markieff is a top 50 player in the NBA.

Advanced stats and informed NBA observers know the quality of Markieff's work.

Andray Blatche does not stretch the floor like Kieff does. I wouldn't say he's more talented at all

Why would we acquire an $8m backup? He's not better than DMo. Would rather let Jones walk and sign someone in the $5m range to back DMo up.

By next season DMo will be good enough for his backup to be far less important. The chances of that not happening are too low for me to feel like we need an $8m whiny mediocre player.

His $8MM a year extension will be less than the MLE in future years. Daryl is all about value and this would be a hell of a bargain. If DM needed to clear space, it would be easily tradable as well.

Markieff is a really good player, I don't think you guys realize just how good he is.

I wouldn't let go of Ariza or DMo to get Morris back, I probably would centre something around Jones and change.

As a guy who was married, and subsequently divorced from, an identical twin - I can tell you it's not a good thing to know you are always the 2nd priority.

Trading Jones for Morris would be like taking a step backwards.
