I think he'll turn into a competent 6th or 7th man in any NBA rotation, but he's still not worth his draft position.
Considering how bad he looked before this preseason started, he is making real improvements. In four games, he has shown hustle, rebounding, better than expected defense, good passing skills, and a good ability to move with and without the ball. Given some more time, he will prove that he is worthy. and on the subject of draft position. It has been shown in other threads that 15th picks dont always work out..if you can get a decent player out of that position, you did well. and from the looks of things so far, he will be a decent player.
1990: Dave Jamerson 1991: Anthony Avent 1992: Anthony Peeler 1993: Doug Edwards 1994: Eric Piatkowski 1995: Brent Barry 1996: Steve Nash 1997: Kelvin Cato 1998: Matt Harpring 1999: Frederick Weis 2000: Jason Collier 2001: Steven Hunter Not a bad little group, if you ask me. I'd say you're right. Jamerson, Piatkowski, Cato, Collier, Nachbar... Interesting.
I agree...but I hope he doesn't become another Bryce Drew were he lights it up in practice and is a dud in game time. We shall see...
I am too. Boki hustled and got a lot of boards, but had 0 steals, 0 blocked shots, and only 4 points in 31 minutes (two of which came from free throws). Boki only made one bucket in 31 minutes of play!!! ..... In a preseason game!!! ... against other 2nd and 3rd stringers!!! .... on the Hornets!!!. That's called a 'blown opportunity'. And, here's the bottom line.. Boki will not bloom because he's not going to see any PT this season (except trash time). And why won't he see any PT? Because he is blowing every opportunity to prove himself during summer league and pre-season. My opinion: He doesn't have an NBA-level game. Once we are rid of him, he will continue to suck with whatever team he goes to. -- droxford
Boki has great defense and despite of his shots not falling to places, I hope his got time to adjust on his shots by the time the regular season's starts. He'll be a good 3!
I dont know if I would say great, but he is certainly putting forth the effort. Maybe with some more real PT and coaching, he could move up to good defense. Im not going to say he will be a "key" contributor...but he has the talent to be a worthy contributor. only time will tell.
