Umm, dude, the 'logo' went to work for the GRIZZIES.

Let me repeat that: THE GRIZ.

    In Memphis.

    In Tennessee.

    The Griz, man.

And he hired Hubie 'Please Change My Bedpan' Brown as a coach.

And he tried to keep Stro for a heck of a lot more money than WE are paying.

So, please, stay off mommy's computer.

Whatever else West may have done back in the day, he has not 'had it' for years.

Yeah and you don't see Kandi dunking on Yao (or any center) and getting monster boards with the minutes he used to bring in.

Damn, glad he's on our team now. :D

    Pretty bold statements there, pelican.

I don't think that anyone here expects Stromile to come in and be a 20 and 10 player. He seems as if he is the perfect fit for our needs...which is an athletic power forward that can drain a mid range jump shot, rebound the ball and shot block on defense to help out Yao. Having him platoon with Juwan should really help us out at the PF position. I don't care if he isn't an all star...we just need him to play hard.

JVG has a history of getting the most out of his players. And I think with Stromile's abilitites, as well as playing with T-Mac and Yao, he should improve this season.

I mean, the guy put up pretty solid numbers playing behing Gasol. I don't think he seems like a paycheck player at all. He just needs some motivation, and I think he will get that here.

I like the signing a lot more than the potential Donyell Marshall signing. Stromile fits our needs better. We don't need a score first mentality.

Exactly, but if your opinion differs from everyone else's, it's a whole different story.

Pelican was a bit inflammatory about it, but I think everyone is a bit overconfident that Swift will be a success. If he continues to contribute exactly what he's given the Grizzlies, the signing will not have been worth it. We are more or less counting on him to step it up.

So true. However, his relatively cheap price tag should make him quite tradeable if things don't work out. The Rockets aren't the only ones willing to take a chance on him.

Exactly, for the price, we are in a no lose situation, if he works great! If not, at least he's not sucking up cap room and wouldn't be to hard to move.

he's made one post and there's been two pages cutting him down. as stupid as it may seem, that was probably his goal/purpose of starting this thread: just to get everyone all pissed off.

It's not like we need him to make any drastic improvements. I don't think we would be counting on him to step up any more than we're counting on Yao to step up?

If you believe that Yao can go from a 30mpg-18ppg-8rpg player to a 35mpg-20ppg-10rpg player, then surely it would be reasonable to expect Swift to improve his production from 10-5 to 13-7 if you increase his minutes from 20 to +25, since both players are close to the same age.

it just irks me when all people do is talk about this dunk when someone mentions yao and strom. why not mention the 10 times yao made him eat the ball?

by the way, this wasn't directed at you LFE. it's just an out loud observation.
