    We got a winner!:D

Now we have two ROY and a runner-up in the same team. Has that ever happened for any team?

I'm with the optimistic folks. I think this could end up being a very good thing for the team - maybe it's time to move Francis to SG.

However it works out, I'm definitely interested in watching.

    Thread summary thus far:

    1) Some think Jackson will do well
    2) Others think he'll somehow sabotage the entire season
    3) Too many former Knicks! Houston Knicks! Woopee, I'm funny!

    ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

It's a 10-day contract. It's an experiment. Wilks is nothing special. Call me old fashioned but I think maybe I'll watch the guy play for at least a game or two before passing judgement, good or bad.

In short, he told some of the younger players that he ran the team better than Stockton did and that he should have been playing more. Caused some dissension. Hopefully he's come back to reality.

Aside from that he may be old and slow, but I think he should be able to contribute. I mean, he was kind of slow to begin with.
So going from slow to slower shouldn't matter that much for him, especially on the offensive end. Can't put up the numbers he has while being a below average athlete without having that "extra something" that most guys don't.

On the defensive end, his lack of quickness will hopefully be offset by the shotblocking abilities of Cato and Yao in the middle. Could his defense be worse than Steve's? Stevie can't really make any excuses for why his defense is so bad.

I just hope I don't see any shimmies after assists or "X"s with his arms after he does something positive. (anyone know what the X symbolized and why he used to do it?)

Seriously though, I think he can fill in and get Yao the ball where he needs it and contribute a good assists/turnover ratio for about 10 minutes a night.

Well, Michael Jordan might not be as useful as Mark Jackson to the Rockets at this point.

rice was actually serviceable as our perimeter threat...when he was healthy. AND he got us that cap money. so he wasn't a total wash.

It was supposed to be a cross. MJ is a devout Christian.

I think you're unfairly lumping JJ in as a guy who has "struggled" with his shot. Have you actually seen the amazingly consistent outside shooting and hardnosed D Jackson's been playing the past month or so? He's been the most stable and reliable player on the team in that span of time, imho.

mark jackson used to drive towards the painted area and throw that short alley oop pass to dale davis while he was in indiana.

now that he's in houston, he'll be throwin those same alleyoops to kelvin cato.
