Considering if we get rid of Trob we can sign Dwight outright, the only reason we might be unloading Lin and maybe Asik is to make room for a second star to pair up with Dwight and Harden.Especially now that the Nets just went into super now win mode with KG and Pierce to go with Williams, JJ and Lopez..

    You're welcome! :)

I actually still have to watch the highlights. lol. But it's good to hear his crossover looked good.

Lin has his money and he's healthy again. Now he can work on his game. I think the results will show up next year and in the years to come. Everyone knows he works hard, and with the amount of improvement he was able to make on shooting 3's within this past season, no reason to think he can't improve greatly in that and other areas going forward.

The nets are the Lakers ('12-'13) of the East next year.

maybe, but KG nd Pierce are tough hombres. The Lakers were soft with mental midgets like Gasol and Dwight. KG and Pierce will instill that mentality into them straight away.

True, unless Houston doesn't think it can move TRob.

I'm sure Howard would love to play with Smith.

Fair Dinkum -- You asked if Machado was guarding Lin in the video. I can't answer because I have not seen it. Anyone else help out here?

Someone will more then likely will take a chance on him. The Celtics are now needing some frontcourt help and with his age and upside he would be an ideal get for them into rebuilding mode.

The ABJ group would not think so. Did you see how many happy campers coming out for the "dumping Jlin" thread?

Ha ha ha. Of course! Don't let them get you down.

We'll see what happens soon. JLin will do well wherever he is. Hopefully, he'll be in Houston next year.

Fair Dinkum -- Machado was #2 and some other guy was #5 in the video. Both guarded Lin.

I'm confused by your answer. Since Lin can sell the tickets or whatever, why Houston wants to trade him? And just remember, most of Lin fans will not follow Rockets because they think Rockets didn't treat him right. They didn't let lin play his game and didn't want linsanity to happen. Yao is different. They treated Yao much better than Lin.

Most Lin fans won't follow the rockets because they will follow Lin like they always do (normally what most player only fans do). Yao was way better than Lin. Just stop. Lin may stay or may not stay, that's it.

It's irritating how he already has his mind made up that Canaan's the 3rd PG and he'll play for the Vipers most of the season.

What if he comes in and toasts Beverley? Heck, what if he puts it on Jeremy Lin during practice?

The closed-mindedness is disturbing. Let him play, and put him where he belongs based on what you and McHale see.

As Carl pointed out pretty early on, none of this is news. Anyone who thinks that Morey isn't shopping everyone on the roster not named James Harden is deluding themselves. Both Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik are decent candidates to be traded because of the relative sizes of their contracts, particularly if Morey can't find anyone who is willing to take T-Rob or Royce White (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha) off of his hands.

Asik would make more sense from a positional redundancy point of view, but it may very well be that Asik is harder to move because other GMs undervalue is defensive worth and don't see the need in today's center-weak league.

At the end of the day, if you are able to pick up a star-caliber player like Dwight Howard, and all you need to do is clear cap space, then you do whatever it takes to clear that cap space short of getting rid of another star. In this case, that means everyone on the roster is expendable except James Harden. But even he could be traded if you were able to get another star + additional assets in return.

What I don't get is why Deeks chose to go with something like this as what looks like his first real attempt at reporting (he's done plenty of analysis, but that is a completely different job than reporting). This is standard rumor mill news that, again, is not actually news to anyone who pays attention. In addition, there is very little chance that it will actually pan out (i.e., that Lin will actually be moved). And lastly, if you are going to report something like this, you wait for something more concrete (like the actual trade) or demand additional information (like the teams Morey has contacted) to get corroboration and add depth to the story.

A good reporting tweet: "Jeremy Lin being shopped to 76ers & Kings for cap space for Dwight."

A bad reporting tweet: "Houston is trying to dump Jeremy Lin's salary", followed by "Beverley is better than Lin that's why"

I get that, but the whole point of trading Omer Asik is to get a star-level player back, which I don't see happening.
