Mark Cuban's thoughts on super-conferences and the Big 12

    Thought this deserved a separate thread since it covers a variety of issues. Nonetheless Mark Cuban voiced his thoughts on superconferences and the breakup of the Big 12. I'm surprised that I agree with a lot of what he has to say.

    I do think geographic rivalries mean a lot in college football.

    But how long have we been hearing about this super conference thing?? It's been "imminent" for 20 years.

    Some of it is worth noting (especially point #5), but he has his facts wrong on some of it - like the idea that games would have to be on early or late to fit. There'd be the same number of teams and same number of games (less if some schools are left out of BCS conferences) and the same number of time slots to televise games. So that part would be no more difficult than it was - and you'd have better matchups because it's easier for a conference with 16 teams to create compelling matchups each weekend when doing scheduling.
