Marketing, always marketing. I want to see him spin his season when they miss the playoffs. "We're better off with a lotto pick! It's the best draft in a decade! MFFL!!"
Cuban can do whatever he wants...I just don't understand how Dirk takes this without saying a word! Dude should be playing for a contender
Just a theory, but I'm guessing Dirk has given Cuban until the end of his contract before he leaves to chase a ring. That means he won't renew next Summer unless Cuban gets another star to sign first. And where would he go? Which team gives him the best chance? Spurs? They will be one year older by then. Who knows. Bulls? Rockets? It's a very short list of places for Dirk to go.
It would have to be a low-key contender, so that rules out Miami, Lakers (if they recover in time), Clippers, BKN or Knicks. I would think his top choice would be OKC. Respectable young franchise, no animosity towards Dallas and recent and likely future success. Others could be GSW, or Us I have a hard time seeing the Spurs just because of their rivalry with the Mavs
I believe him. Dallas should be primed for a championship run for years to come very soon, I hope they retire a Rocket.
We are better off not winning the championship this year guys. That means our players go into the off season ready to train harder. Am I doing it right?
Out of respect, Dirk wouldn't sign with a division rival, and I have a hunch that he despises Kobe. That leaves the Clippers and Thunder as possible destinations in the West.
Yes, I mean who wouldn't rather have Chris Kaman, Sam Dalembert, and Jose Calderon than Deron Williams & Dwight Howard? I totally believe Cuban.
Their roster is terrible, doesn't show any concept and they messed up their chances for a great 2014 pick. Should've started a full rebuild this season, let's face it, no huge free agent will be eager to play with an old Dirk+Monta. Cuban completely messed up in the last two years.
He has played on a team that has won 50+ games for a decade plus. He played in multiple finals. He has had many deep playoff runs. He doesn't have much to complain about.
