Seems to be a VERY nice omen - TMac canceling his appearance at the Daytona event on Saturday.. 'scheduling conflicts' .. uh huh.. yeah.. (Dr. Evil voice) Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. on a side note - how come I keep having these little hairs stand up on the back of my neck, and this little voice keeps whispering in my ear, 'Be careful what you wish for....' Many think JVG ruined Stevie.. what kind of comforting words are there for those of us worried that JVG might ruin Tmac also?? GAAAA!!!!!!!!! GET THE DEAL DONE ALREADY!! I AM LOSING IT!!!!!!!!
So true, that it hurts......... STEVIE wants to be important SO BAD......that its killin him.....hes gotta try and prove to the world that he is so in control of this situation so much that he is willin to throw every inch of professionalism he has out the window Memo to "THE FRANCHISE" The general consensus around the NBA is that you are a typical modern day Generation X superstar and most GM's and Coaches don't like you for that reason...all you had left was professionalism and now you throwin that out the window also...so please MR. FRANCHISE....pack your stuff and let us get on to winnin some rings here..your have been here 5 years..its not like you didn't get a chance P.S. And you Wonder why you didn't make the Olympic Team!!!!! Wake up Dude....Dwayne Wade made the team before you
But T-Mac is mother teresa when it comes to professionalism. He has NEVER complained or QUIT on his team!!! This is the type of idiotic post that hate to see from so called Houston fans. Bashing a guy who gave his heart and soul to the team and city. I wish Stevie the best and hopes he proves all you losers wrong!!! Sounds like the exact description of T-Mac.
If you are SF right about now you have already came out and said you are OK with everything(gave it stamp of approval) now Orlando Weisass has lied to you saying deal would get done and he has kept putting it off. So if im SF i think im kind of saying what he would be right now..... I would hate to be in the guys shoes saying "yeah im gonna play there, I want to play there" only to have Orlando nix this thing!
One Must consider in Rescent years, the Orlando Organisation has pretty much let Tracy down at every turn!. He asked for help, what do they do? they bring the Pre-Historic Ewing. the year after that, they bring in cocke head Kemp. oh Yeah, lets not forget Howard either!. Comon, Tracy has every - god - given Right to Pissed at the Magic Organisation!.
Francis is a star, and stars get to have say in where they end up. Some of you just need to get over that and move on with your lives. Francis isn't the first star to be asked if he was okay with a trade and he won't be the last. Quit b****in about it and move on.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and your point is what????? WE WANT T MAC....and thats a fact......most everyone on this board would give there left N*T To get the guy(Thats actually a little scary, but true) so what is your point of the post?????
"Oh, yeah, he's coming. I may not see him or maybe we will or maybe there is a deal or maybe not... But I can't wait to see Steve stick it to the Rockets and we're still talking to 42 other teams and we may not trade him away to a third team and we may not trade McGrady and we won't rush things and we're hope this will be resolved soon and Steve played right wing well but we may move him to left wing...."
Here's the problem with that scenario. If Francis full salaried status kicks in, the deal may not be of as much value to the Magic. As it is now, they can get Mobley and Cato in the deal while giving up McGrady, Howard and Lue. If Francis loses that BYC status, the Magic would either have to accept fewer players from the Rockets or give up more in the deal to make it work under the cap. By doing it now, they get the best deal on the table. By waiting, the Rockets deal may become less attractive.
Thank you Jeff, exactly what is critical... Our deal is best right now. Indiana is the team that worries me. If it doesn't happen by tomorrow watch Bird's phone bill to Orlando.
Why, so Bird can join in on Weisbrod's dog-and-pony show? So he can sweat out media reports every day from a GM who constantly contradicts himself? So he can be told that Orlando is still negotiating with 4 or 5 other teams and is under no pressure to make a trade until August or training camp or mid-season? So the Magic can invite Pacers players to visit Orlando and then deny any knowledge of the offer? So they can give up a big chunk of their team to the Magic for McGrady, who has stated that he won't sign a long-term deal with anyone but the Rockets? If I were running the Pacers or any other team, I would be watching this Rockets-Magic scenario very closely. I wouldn't want to play Weisbrod's game, especially for a player I'm unlikely to keep long-term. The little bit of leverage Weisbrod and the Magic have in this standoff expires at midnight tomorrow. Without Stevie's BYC status, the return the Magic receives from the Rockets dips substantially. And I think everyone else's offer will decline as well. If Weisbrod keeps delaying, McGrady still might be coming to Houston, but either Cat or Cato probably won't be going to Orlando. He can either settle for that deal or talk to one of those 4 or 5 anonymous teams that allegedly won't stop ringing his phone. But if I'm one of those teams — if they actually exist — I negotiate with a whole different mindset starting July 1. They no longer have to beat the Rockets' best offer — it won't be feasible anymore. Bird, for instance, may be calling Orlando, but he's foolish if he offers Artest or Harrington to rent McGrady for a year. The same goes for Phoenix. Weisbrod can kiss his Joe Johnson or Amare Stoudemire fantasies goodbye. The best offer Orlando is going to get is on the table right now, but it turns into a pumpkin at midnight tomorrow. The clock is ticking. Let's hope Weisbrod can hear it over those voices in his head.
