I'm wary of being too optimistic about Bonzi. What happened last season soured me on him some and I'm not sure what to expect this season. Maybe a lot of that had to do with JVG and maybe Adelman can work some magic this year, but right now I'm not completely sold. That said, maybe he'll be a better fit this year and we'll see what he really can do for this team.
Great, but will he play? He was "signed" last year, but virtually sat out the season. What if that happens again?
Then again, Battier (and maybe even Bonzi) is capable of stealing a few minutes at the four when other teams go small. There may be time for Snyder yet if we trade Head.
Looks like Rockets will use MLE to fill the PF void. But now Head, VSpan, Lucas, and Snyder, at least two out of the 4 will be gone...
GREAT news! Contract year, a Coach that knows how to play him, and reports from DM that he is in great shape -- Bonzi should have an awesome year.
great move. what i want is to have tmac play SF now. why? b/c the reason bonzi was so effective w/ the kings was that artest drew the other team's best perimeter defender (which tmac would now). thus bonzi will play the other team's SG and usually not as good a defender. therefore, it's easier for him to do what he does. battier's role won't be as big it seems like.
I'm happy, I really think Coach A will be able to take care of this guy, JVG had a huge ego, it was either his way or no way, I just hope we get a legit PF and Ron Artest, then we are set.
Alston - James - (Lucas/VSpan) McGrady - Head - ??? Battier - Bonzi - Reed (Trade/MLE) - Hayes - Novak Yao - ??? - ??? Head has nearly averaged 28mins in both seasons. If Adelman prefers Bonzi his minutes might take a big hit maybe even half? IMO Snyder is gone-ski. Lucas may stay if VSpan goes, otherwise he's gone too. If Sura's contract gets traded before the season starts it's pointing towards a PF.
I like Bonzi's game.....especially for the dirt he brings to this line-up of good ole boys....he gives us a mean streak...now that JVG is gone and his beloved Coach Adleman is in he may show us what he can really do.......
cant wait til next the draft and to see who we sign with the MLE now... we seem most definitely pretty set as far as our guards go. If bonzi comes to play anything like he did in sac then he will help us so much... he is just what we needed in the playoffs last year.
