No, the lack of hitting cost the Astros a ring this year….. The pitching staff pitched well enough for the offense to bring home some bread….. But they forgot to pick up the bread at the store after winning the ALCS.

What? The Astros pitched well enough to win easily. They got shut out in two games and only scored 2 runs each in two more games. They scored a total of 4 runs in their 4 losses. The left 1,000,000 runners on base in game 4. They couldn't hit. The Astros hide the fact that they are actually streaky at offense by having explosively good games and series that brings all their averages way up. They got cold and couldn't hit. That's why they lost the World Series.

The pitching and the hitting combined were the culprit.
in the 12 games between the ALCS and the world series, the pitching gave up 3 or more runs within the first 3 innings 6 times. That's atrocious.
    That's a recipe for disaster.
How many times can you be expected to be put into a deep hole in the first 3 inning and crawl out of it?

The team with the better pitching won the WS.

Crane should just put $15M on the Astros and he can pay for Correa!

The Twins being on that list and ahead of the Astros is laughable.

He wants to stat pad... career in Target Field:
    .413 AVG .443 OBP .762 SLG 1.205 OPS

    Whereas in MMP:
    .278 AVG .364 OBP .483 SLG .847 OPS

He also has the 2nd highest BA against Minnesota than any other team with at least 30 games played against (1st is Boston)

Think his brother in our system has any relevance? I'd think no, but could mean something . . . prospect to play together in 3-7 years?

No. His brother is pretty much a non-prospect (although he did exceed expectations in his first year as a pro). He’s not going to let the 10% chance his brother reaches the majors in 3 years affect a $300M decision.

The Braves have good pitching, but they aren't all world pitchers. The Astros should have eaten them up.

If he can average 20 homeruns over the course of a 10 year contract with the Twins that puts him pretty close to 400 career homeruns. Maybe 1200 hits (120/year) to get him to 2000 hits? I don't know...stat padding wouldn't be a bad reason to go to the Twins but do those "mythical" numbers hold much weight anymore in the eyes of HoF voters? Of course this is under the impression that you're serious about the stat padding :)

My comment was because there is virtually zero chance the Twins are handing out the type of contract Correa wants.

From the Skeeters? Oh lord, you get what you pay for. Sure if we're a rebuilding team instead of a contending team.
