Mediocre is average and finishing 7-9 8-8 9-7 is being average it has nothing to do with my teams success. And on the same note, no saying Texans fans are bitter has nothing to do with either teams success and everything to do with the way texans fans feel towards the cowboys.

Completely agree, but those 30 other teams don't make it a daily focus on sports talk, forums and other things like Houston does. Houston makes it there fairy tale rivalry.

Really? Is it? Even when you have only won one game after week 17 in over a decade? Sounds like consistent disappointment. It's okay...next year is your year

the Eagles do, the Redskins do, the Giants do.

I have no problem with Houston treating an in-state rival like a division rival in terms of sports talk and forums.

All trash talking aside yes it really is fun even if you loose, To be apart of the playoffs. The funny thing is I go with friends who are Texans season ticket holders to 1 - 2 games a year and pull for the Texans unless of coarse they are playing the cowboys. I just find it funny when I see topics like this that focus completely on the cowboys when the feeling is not mutual.

And to Kaleidosky, really are you even going to try to use those 3 teams to make a point. The feeling is COMPLETELY mutual towards the deadskins, iggles and shelis team. Those real rivalries go back 30 years and every team in the NFC east despises each other.

at one point in the season Mario requested not to play in pads, unfortunately the team required him to put them back on

I don't feel that way. I'd rather be in then out, but man do I get deflated when the Titans have had a Super Bowl team then lost in the playoffs. Always its seems in heartbreaking fashion. During the Steve McNair runs and then 2008's team, it felt like the Titans were the better team. They always fumbled away games, or had the officials make a bad call/no call in crucial spots.

We all get deflated when our teams loose in big games. But I would rather be there and loose, than not be there at all is what I meant.

Flozell was hit and miss this year. A lot more miss than hit but I really hope we will be cutting flo and moving Doug Free to LT next year. Flo is only getting worse and any kind of speed rush can blow right past him. Another famous jerrah move giving an offensive lineman on his decline a 6 year contract. /facepalm

yes, I am. Are you saying the Texans aren't allowed to have rivals because they haven't been around long enough?

Sorry, they're in the NFL and they're gonna have rivals. Philly and Pittsburgh are rivals when they play--the fans really don't like the other city. DC and Baltimore are rivals.

In-state / in-area rivalries happen. Houston and Dallas can be rivals. Just because Dallas fans want to feel superior to someone (and since they can't feel clearly superior to their division-rivals or the good teams in the NFC), they want to say "oh we're too good to be rivals with Houston". Whatever, you can wait until you lose a few times for it to develop--that's fine
