Out for the season also means out for the playoffs? (That is... if we make the playoffs)

LOL at people thinking it only happens to the Texans, half of the packer's roster was injured and they still won the super bowl. I'm not saying Mario out wont make a difference but the team wont drop off either if back ups play well and coaches make adjustments.

all teams have injuries, but typically your best players need to be healthy...for the packers Clay MAtthews on defense and Aaron Rodgers on offense.

It's not the end of the world, Reed will be our Clay Mattews. He already looks like him.

To be fair, they lost their #1 RB, TE in the season and #1 corner for the SB. No way we win ball games if we lost Foster, OD, and JJ.

This D still can't be worse than it was last season. The offense has to take on more responsibility.

    Get well soon, AJ.

What Donkey said. Injuries are part of any sport... they happen all the time, especially in football. And yes, the backups would need to play well as well as the coaches making adjustments but when you lose players that really can't be replaced because of their talent, those injuries are the most devastating. Not saying we can't win without Mario though, but it sure makes things a lot harder.

Dude, Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley do NOT equal Andre Johnson and Mario Williams (and Arian Foster, btw!)

I wonder what this does to his market value.

I think it's safe to say that he has been injury prone throughout his career.

Jermichael Finley hadn't proven anything at that point, and neither had Ryan Grant, really. And they had Woodson for the entire season up until halftime of the Superbowl.

There is no comparison. Foster, Johnson, Williams. All missing time or done for the year. Unquestionably our top 3 players. I'd like to see ANY team recover from that.

apples and oranges. They hardly ran/run the ball anyways so the RB isn't as critical to their offense...TE, somewhat similar. They had/have very good WR depth.

But again, Rodgers is the best player on that side of the ball and they had him.

Same for defense. Yes, they didn't have their #1 corner but Matthews is/was their #1 player. He was the catalyst to that defense and with him killing QBs, they could get by without the #1 CB.

Seriously, what a ridiculous argument. If the Packers lose Greg Jennings and Clay Matthews and win a bunch of games, then we can talk.

what about T.O missing the entire playoffs in 05 and the Eagles still made the superbowl, at that that T.O was one of top 3 WR in the NFL.
