I think Bush would be better if they played him like Westbrook with the Eagles.
    lots of short passes.

True...that's what they tried doing last year.

Westbrook is actually a runningback though...he does all the receiving that Bush can do, but he can also rush for over 5 yards a carry.

Im just waiting for the day that all the hype subsides. I truly cannot stand it.

Don't forget those electric 6 catches for 20 yards, an amazing 3.3 yards per catch.

it worked in the later half of the year.
the problem with the saints is that the pass game sets up the run.
if the pass game sucks, then the run game sucks.

we'll see what happens when Duece sits out a game and Reggie gets a full 20 carries. if he sucks with all the carries then he's truly all hype.

if he's that "once a generation" player, it really shouldn't matter.

at this point in his career, bush is a mediocre player.... especially for that ridiculous contract.

    the saints got duped.

Westbrook can actually run the ball. Bush never learned how to properly make cuts or read blocks between the tackles in college. He just ran around and juked everyone. That stuff doesn't work in the NFL and as a result he's bordering on downright worthless.

Bush was supposed to be a stronger more powerful version of Westbrook but at this point, he's useless.

He's right about everything else he said but I do agree that I haven't heard the Bush/Westrbook comparison before either.

Especially anything relating to strength. I think everybody knew when he was still at USC, as they know now, that he's just a speed back. Nothing more....at least yet.

Hell, I could probably name you 8-10 starting RB's under 25 that i'd rather have right now than Reggie Bush. I mean, you would think since he's basically the new face of the league that he would be some once-in-a-lifetime player that you would dare never say anything like that about but clearly he's really not. It's pretty funny actually.

whatever, haters. He scored both of their touchdowns.

    I liked Kornheiser's comments after Reggie's 1-yard TD run.

"Now that's what speed can do for you!!!"

My God, are you serious?? It's a 1-yard run! But I know... it was the most DYNAMIC 1-yard run ever...

is this even an argument anymore. the guy was billed as the most sure-fire #1 pick in years. that he was a no-brainer. he is not even a pro bowl player at this point. he was absolutely overrated. as was the entirety of the "greatest college football team ever."

:D i remember hearing that too and thinking  ...give me a break!

I remember hearing Bush's first punt return in his rookie season over the radio. The details escape me but the broadcaster went completely nuts over nothing..."Bush backs up to receive the ball at the 30 yard line. He's got it! HE CUTS RIGHT! BACK LEFT! 35! 40! OHHH and goes out of bounds at the 41!"
for an 11 yard return! It was comical.

oh yeah that electric 1 yard TD couldn't have been made by any other RB in this league because they don't have the blazing speed he does..... :)
