hahaha....thats just funny! what have they won? 2 games vs the titans out of 12???? a possibility of .500 season? they still wont make playoffs for the next 5 years
Thing is, you can have it both ways. He was playing well early and just not getting on the stat sheet. Then something happened. In a short time, he not only caught, but surpassed all in the AFC on and off the stat sheet. He has become the most dominating player at his position over the past 1/2 season. That is reason alone to make it. I'm not saying he should be in over VB or Allen. He definitely should be in over Jason Taylor, who got in solely on name recognition and that the voters felt bad for Miami.
messed up, but the hope is this pisses him off in a positive way over the next 2 games...Make the voters look even MORE stupid!
The all-star games is about fame, and mario was in a low light that is why he didnt get choose, like Fred Taylor he had an awesome season, and he should be in the pro bowl, but I dont why he didnt make the team
One thing to keep in mind is that there are usually a lot of alternates that end up playing in Hawaii one way or another. A lot of players make the Pro Bowl based on reputation alone / team having success. Mario is an obvious snub, but keep in mind he didn't start to come on until late in the season. Jaguars - 10-4, not only Taylor snubbed yet again (I think you have to give it to him over Addai this year) but not even a single player voted in. I mean they really don't have that 1 player who wows you all the time or has the greatest stats, but you could at least give Rashean Mathis a spot. as for my Raiders... Nnamdi Asomugha had 8 picks last year and made the Squad as an alternate. Only has 1 interception this season, teams simply do not throw in his direction. I think thats what makes picking a CB for the pro bowl very difficult. Given that fact he won't get in when Antonio Cromartie has 10 interceptions but not near the shut down skill. Thomas Howard has 6 picks as a LB, more than any LB since Ray Lewis in 03. Kirk Morrison is also high on the list of tackles and is a very solid MLB. Poor record and bad reputation hurts some very solid performances here. I thought Morrison did more to deserve a LB nod than Ray did.
anyone catch espn when they were announcing the teams? they had demeco ryans team listed as Pittsburgh which was an excusable typo, but the sportcaster said, "Pittsburgh lost joey porter to free agency but they knew what they had in ryans." i was reading this on the closed captioning so i'm not sure if he was joking with the typo or if he's just an idiot.
The less-than-impressive first part of the season might have had something to do with it, but after the way he's finishing it out he should have made it in. Hopefully he uses this as further motivation, and not as a buzz kill. And congrats to Ryans. Well deserved.
WTF!! I don't think there is any chance he will use this as a buzz kill. He handled all the ridicule and jokes from the national media about him being picked over the future Michael Jordan of the NFL, the sure fire can't miss prospect in Reggie Bush without a problem. He didn't even let the bashing from the local media for being selected over the Hall of Famer Vince Young get him down.
You know, if his own fans and own media didn't hate him sooo much, he probably would have gotten in from fan voting. It's hard to generate support when the local media and fans ridicule him any chance they get. There is zero doubt that if Mario starts a lil slow next year, the Reggie and VY talk will start again. He's in a no win situation.
Haven't heard **** from Smokey either since vince started sucking (the last game excluded) and Mario has become Super.
I haven't looked at the stats, but how much "more impact in the other 59 snaps each game" could Taylor have had this year if his team started the season with a 13-game losing streak?
My experience from watching Jason Taylor play is that he is a great pass rusher, but not really much in the run stopping department. That's one thing I think Mario has that a lot of pass rushers don't. The guy can clog the lanes pretty well on run defense as well as get to the QB. I know Taylor has like 48 tackles this year, so maybe his run defense has improved. But from my own observations, he is much more one dimensional than Mario, even at this early stage in MW's career.
The Texans had something like 17 starters injured this year. The most in the NFL. We were missing our best player for about half the season. You are an idiot and a VY **** sucker. That's all there is to it. This is the Texans, Astros, Comets on the HOUSTON Rockets fan site. Go to the r****d message board where you belong: http://www.titansonline.com/fan_zone/message_board/index.php Go Houston.
