Today on ESPN Mario Chalmers said his team has the luxury of having 3 focal points the offense can run through . Which is quite true. You have 3 superstars who can carry the team during stretches. This is interesting given the fact Lebron gets credit for leading them, but he has 2 other focal point options to take the pressure off (especially in 4th quarter). Does he have the most help in the NBA?

PS. Chalmers also stated he'd prefer to have the ball over LBJ in the clutch.

Most elite teams have more than one option. Spurs with Duncan, Ginobli, Parker, Lakers with Bynum, Pau, Kobe, etc.. It seems like Chalmers is just stating the obvous: the Heat have three stars. Yea, the extra stars definitely take the pressure off. I wouldn't say he has the most help in the NBA. I think Duncan has more help with the Spurs or Kobe with the Lakers or Rose with the Bulls (even though he's the only star on the Bulls, the Bulls without him are still a hell of a team).

As for Chalmers saying he'd rather have the ball in the clutch, I'm not sure what to make of that. Is he trying to say he doesn't trust LeBron with the ball?

Mario has been openly saying that for a while now. He's the best pure shooter on their team, and he likes taking late-game shots. When you have the dribble drive of James-Wade and the roll by Bosh, chances are that the guy is going to have some space for an open look.

Chalmers isn't afraid of the big shot.

Makes sense. He's their only player in the starting lineup that can hit a 3.

This isn't news to anybody. The Heat are stacked. You can't hold that against Lebron just like you can't hold it against MJ for having Pippen or Rodman or whoever. Chalmers can hit big shots, he's like their Steve Kerr.(obviously not the same kind of player, but a role player that can hit big shots.)

Mario isn't afraid to take the big shot. He thinks he is going to make it. He's proven he can do it.

He's done it for the Heat as well, but not bigger than in the NCAA tournament.

He's not now because his role's been minimized playing with 2 other stars. He's CLEARLY a superstar as the main focal point. See Toronto

What's crazy is they have 3 potential focal points yet only 1 to 1.2 of them are ever used effectively. Let a real coach get his hands on that firepower and you'd witness something truly special. Right now it's all processing power under the hood - no RAM.

Bosh is at least a star. This playoffs he didn't look like much cause of his injury.

Check last years when he was beasting on the Bulls "great" defense.

agree, he is a worthy all star, but superstar is just pushing it in my opinion.

He's clearly a STAR as the main focal point. Superstars do not miss the playoffs five out of seven years in a weak conference where half the time it doesn't even take 40 wins to get in, regardless of who else is on the team.
