Dude, what a punk! He did that on purpose, no way that was an accident. He looked right at the guy before doing it.
That's what I call "pulling a Laettner". The only difference is we don't have to watch footage of Vick throwing a 40-yard TD pass to win the game every bowl season from here on out.
Except that Laettner wasn't wearing cleats and wasn't trying to hurt the guy, and didn't hurt him. But other than that, yeah.
link 16. Virginia Tech Hokies Why: The defense should again be very fast and very good, and Marcus Vick should continue to mature and improve. Why not: Until the Hokies prove they can properly finish off a season, and until Vick gets the punk element out of his game, there is reason to doubt this team.
It looks like V-Tech is going to do the right thing as a meeting looms and probably a suspension. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls05/news/story?id=2282642
Even the Ref said VPI is a bunch of punks. http://www.dailypress.com/sports/dp-50017sy0jan05,0,6084139.story?coll=dp-sports-local Virginia Tech players were out of control during the first half of the Gator Bowl, and Hokies quarterback Marcus Vick should have been ejected for stomping on a prone Louisville defender, the game's referee said Wednesday. Steve Usecheck, a Big 12 Conference official who led the crew for Monday's game, called Tech's first-half taunting and late hits the worst he's seen in his 22 seasons. He said that no official saw Vick stomp the back of Elvis Dumervil's leg while Dumervil was down on the turf late in the second quarter. "We missed that, and I'm sorry we did," Usecheck told the Daily Press from his Colorado home. "The TV, everybody saw it but us. I wish we had the opportunity to talk to (Vick) because that was complete (expletive). ... You bet I would have thrown his ass out." ...Officials called five personal fouls against the Hokies during the first half - four that cost Tech yardage and one that was offset by a Louisville personal foul. "I was really disappointed," Usecheck said. "We don't see football like that (in the Big 12). Those kids were just completely out of control. ... Louisville wasn't as bad. Virginia Tech was brutal."
he deserves to be suspended.....again. it was obviously on purpose, he looked directly down at his leg then proceeded to stomp on it. and the fact that we are talking about a guy who is what, 20 years old, and is being suspended for the 2nd or 3rd time? i think it is okay to call the guy a punk or a thug or whatever. he earned it. regardless of race.
WOW, I guess with his history Frank probably had given him a zero tolerance rule. I was going to say it seems pretty extreme, but he did get in trouble for statutory rape so he was lucky to be on the team in the first place. but you're right, that's what espn.com is reporting.
Vick was officially kicked off the team. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/5227094 And you know what I was giving him the benefit of the doubt on his past incidences. he pleaded guilty to giving alcohol to underage girls, later plead guilty to reckless driving, pled no contest to mar1juana charges. this is now the FOURTH incident with him at VT, he never should have been given that third chance after reckless driving and mar1juana possession. kid needs to get his life straightened around...
My thoughts exactly Heck . . he probably told Va Tech he is out so now they can look big by suspending him Rocket River . . it is not like he BROKE his leg
Go watch the video. A) The play was OVER. B) He looks straight down at Dumervil before and while going through the step. And you are defending him? Give me a break. That was an egregious cheap shot, and he should have been ejected. He got what he deserved by getting dismissed from the team. He should not have played after that, and this is not his first behavioral problem as documented before. I can't believe you justify this and defend a guy who got the correct punishment for his actions.
Wow. Just wow. That's like saying someone shouldn't be arrested for drunk driving until they kill someone. He could've easily broken his leg or hurt him very seriously. I can't believe you would completely disregard something like that.
my thoughts exactly....the guy needed to go. when someone goes out of their way to hurt another player well after a play is over, that's what jim haslett likes to call chicken ****. this is just ONE of MANY examples of poor character by marcus vick, he deserves to be kicked off the team.
