I don't even really care anymore. When this team stops doing dumb things then I'll maybe give a damn again.
When I said MT was coming here as an under the radar signing months ago (as a hint to RA's old stomping grounds), I never imagined he would be abused in term of consistent minutes. Look at his career PPG. The guy can score. Period. This is part of the internal issues I wrote about previously. It isn't as much as drama as it is about "trust." LowKeyMT is a shooter. He needs a couple of looks to get going. We have some guys on the team that don't prefer to send him the ball because they know his first thought is to score. Not naming anyone, but you can guess who doesn't always like the amount of shots he takes. And no, it's not Dwight. They're tight. The funny thing is that, even when his shots are contested, they look good, even over the outstretched hands of bigs. I was so pumped when I had "ears" to MT coming here, and when I posted it, I thought we found our bargain scoring threat off of the bench. I'm almost embarrassed I was so amped when I posted it in one of the off-season threads. MT isn't be used the way he should. The first three games of Kevin McHale's coaching incompetence showed this. I LOVE JB, and I think he is a great fit for this group, but at this point, MT should be taking TY's minutes (even though they are different positions), and when he's not playing well, Corey's. MT is an underrated passer and defender. My favorite thing about his play is the passion. He does not give up and he holds HIMSELF accountable to his errors. I haven't heard about him being in the doghouse as much as I've heard JB trying to figure out the right rotation. One thing is for sure. Changes are coming. If it goes down as planned, this board will be 50% happy, 50% annoyed that we let go of some guys that could regain their games.
As long as we keep: Harden DMo Thornton Capella I am fine - the rest can be mixed and mashed however we like. DD
If brewer is let go i dont think anyone will be annoyed. And i think the vast majority will be happy with lawson too.
The Harden-Thorton speculation is true?! See poll here & more here Jones - 99% would be happy to see him gone Brewer - 100% would be happy to see him gone Lawson - hasn't worked out but has come on lately. Terry, Thornton, Ariza, Beverley ???
CF is always hovering around there anyway, though right now there are more annoyed than there are happy.
Unless we're out of the playoff picture, I would be surprised if Dwight is traded. This may be his last go in Htown. We're better with him than without him. That rim protection is like not other. And, we know how well he plays in the playoffs.
I fear codman means ariza and then u can count me in the mad and angry whiny crowd unless we get smth very good back. Btw happy holidays codman.
C***tease. Hope you're feeling well, Codman. Good to see you posting. Yes, Codman often intimates about the fear of trading Ariza. I'm with you: the return better be good. And the return better include someone who g.a.f. about defense. It was painful two seasons ago watching Parsons playing for a contract (i.e., no defense involved) alongside no-defense-already Harden. (Well, this year had been even more painful, but you get the idea.) According to JBB, a "winner", an awesome m.f., able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and never relinquish his "ha-ha, got-you-with-the-whoopee-cushion!" smile.
Everyone said I was crazy when I mentioned awhile back that Harden's body language was off whenever Thornton caught fire..like he was jealous because he wasn't hitting himself. He refused to pass it to him and waved him off. Hmm.
Let's not forget the guy has been on what 4 or 5 teams in 2 years? There's a legitimate reason he can't stick with a team.
Thanks for the insight Codman. I find it interesting you think so highly of JB. I find him to be just as terrible if not more so than Mchale. I think his awful rotations played a huge hand in the losses to The Pelicans and Magic and his inability to draw up a game ending play ( twice now ) is rather baffling for a HC. If they do trade guys like Lawson and Ariza who I'm guessing you're hitting at they better be getting something of much value back especially for Ariza. Thanks COD hope all is well!
Harden waiving off MT was bought up in game day threads as well. It is evident MT is more consistent with his jumper and him taking the volume of shots he has taken isnt liked by all.
HA... I've been saying this for a while... All started back around game 4, 5 or 6 when they got into it coming off the court... Man I can't wait until Clutch can spill the beans... T_Man
