at one point we had 3 point guards on the floor at the same time...I don't even know what to say. McHale went full McHale.
Thornton not getting time tonight especially with the outside shots not falling was the biggest head scratcher tonight. McHale sticks stubbornly to certain rotations/players and is not innovative enough to change it up on the fly when things are not working. Thornton is streaky but possibly could have come in and given an offensive spark and spread the floor better and gave Harden and Lawson more room to operate.
McHale keeps Thorton out of a game when he was clearly great off the bench in pre-season. He got the most minutes and shot very well. It was what we needed with everybody missing. What is going on here?
I...I don't understand why Thornton didn't get into tonight's game. Isn't a game like tonight (where our perimeter guys are having trouble scoring) exactly the reason we brought him in????? Am I taking stupid pills? Not saying he was the answer to the problems, but cmon wtf
I feel sorry for the guy. How can a guy first off the bench, several games have two or 3 threes in a row and now get a DNP??
He might as well take Bevs minutes. Surely he couldn't pass or dribble worse? And all i am seeing Bev do on D is foul people.... Good news is that McHale isn't afraid to make changes (based on his history). I think he might switch things up soon.
Mind boggling.....something else has to be going on. He didn't even get in today in garbage time. That's the perfect time to test him, if there are doubts about him and nothing.
Unless he is getting traded today, he should have played. I get that Morey wants to protect his trade pieces but we really needed him. If he isn't getting traded, i've lost faith in McHale, he fails to recognise the most obvious adjustments.
This is ridiculous, it makes no sense why Marcus Thorton has not played! Granted, this is only the second game, but from what I have seen, the coaching staff needs to be fired!
If I was Morey I would be livid. He signs a guy that can help with shooting, Rockets throw up brick after brick and he can't get into the game? I would be so in McHale's face.
I completely forgot about this guy last night. Why DIDNT we see him? Bizarre. We also kept Terrence Jones out there for WAY too long when he was playing like garbage. An injury forced McHale's hand. Neither of these things would have turned that trainwreck around, but they're just pieces of the puzzle.
