I was watching to see Teddy Bridgewater but couldn't help but notice marcus Smith. He was recruited as a QB but then got switched to defense. He's a 6'3" 260 DE/OLB and he impressed against Miami. He's projected anywhere 6th round to 4th. Here is what Miller (one of my favorite scouts) had to say...

    Scouting Report Marcus Smith

He was the American Conference defensive player of the year. He finished the season with 13.5 sacks and looked more impressive then Barr in the Miami game. Yeah I know it was Miami but there Offense was supposed to be okay. It was there defense that was suspect. Anyway just thinking he might be worth a later round pick.

Here is an interview with Jim Rome. The kid had his heart set on playing QB but he kind of sucked and coach strong said you want to play defense and he said Coach i'll do anything to be on the field.

I think the kid is a late bloomer and will only get better.

He will need a lot of time to develop...

All of his impact plays were a result of him having a straight shot to the QB with no blockers. The second a blocker gets on him, he's easily eliminated from the play.

He's like a diet version of Mercilus.
