Santos was charged with embezzlement in a Brazilian court in 2011, according to case records from the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice.
However, court records from 2013 state that the charge was archived after court summons went unanswered and they were unable to locate Santos.​

 

Ehh... no I don't think it is the same. Joe Biden had a long history of relating his son's death from cancer at 46 to his time serving in Iraq in the burn pits. There are even books written about the high levels of cancer in vets that worked in the burn pits. He had in the past numerous times said he believed that his son died because of his exposure in Iraq to the burn pits.

So, I wouldn't equate it to the same thing as completely fabricating things. There are likely other examples over the past 40 years where Biden has completely made something up, but this isn't it. Also, this candidate has done all of this in a short period before he even ran. The concern from everyone should be there, we don't want people completely lying about their past like this - and it doesn't matter the party.

 

No doubt this candidate is a pathological liar way beyond this one thing (as I wrote).

All I said was that this particular statement (assuming the mother indeed died of cancer) reminds me of the other particular statement, the commonalities being that neither person died directly "at the event", but years later from something that is widely known to probably have caused cancer. Just like with the burn pits, it is well known that 9/11 survivors had significantly elevated cancer rates.

Now, I don't know if the mother indeed died of cancer, or even died at all.

 

She died, just no reason to believe she was even near the towers, especially given he made up what she did for a living.

I knew a guy through a friend who said he was a tax lawyer. They were good friends, drinking buddies. He would talk about tax avoidance measures we should take. He'd also tell crazy stories about his primo gun collection and the hijinx he used to engage in as a youth. I never much liked him because he was a braggart and a bit of an *******. But he helped my friend with his taxes and they even partnered together for some real estate deals to set up some tax shelters. Then the FBI called my friend asking what he knew about the guy. Turns out he's not a lawyer, not even a tax professional of any kind, didn't actually graduate from college much less attend law school. He'd fled some other state and changed his identity and was representing himself as a tax attorney and taking on clients. Credit to him that he learned enough about tax law to fool people. Not sure if he's been arrested yet because he absconded, but my friend's taxes are effed up (the real estate is legit though, they were friends enough I guess that he didn't get scammed). But that seems like the kind of guy George Santos is - severely damaged, and spreading his damage on everyone he knows.

Dam, this dude has no shame. I hope this drives him to the point to where he just gets fed up and steps down. The kid next to him doesn't even want to talk to him. He has no one to blame but himself and you can be dam sure reporters are out trying to find his next lie.......they showed him walking into the chamber this am and the reports were relentless and I don't expect that to quiet down anytime soon
