Both Menedez and Santos should be expelled. That they both Democrats and Republicans feel hamstrung by doing so is again one of the problems with putting political calculus above principle.

Hm... is santos being subjected to a criminal trial, or is the government body (congress) voting on expulsion. Because the standard of "innocent until proven guilty" is applied to criminal trials. santos seems to believe he has a right to hold office. The congress would seem to think santos' behavior is so egregious that he should be removed from office. If they don't, then future candidates will lie and deceive voters to win political races.

 

Awesome, force republicans to choose to expel him or force them to vote to not expel him and hand Democrats another campaign point. Either work for me... and even better, have enough republicans vote to expel and have a significant number of magas vote to not expel him. Best of all worlds.

santos is quite honestly the worst government representative of all time. Worse than boobert. Worse than mtg. Worse than nixon. Worse than trump even (though its close). How anyone could have ever voted for him... NY republicans should be ashamed.

 

That's so pathetic. I'm sure some MAGAs will parrot the consistency line, but I seriously doubt he could get many Republicans to vote for this, let alone Democrats. He's just going to keep embarrassing himself till his very last day in office -- which is probably tomorrow.
