This guy should have been gone a long time ago. What an embarrassment. The last person to talk about "truth".

    On brand.

I don't even know what the censure is about but this is exactly what I'd be doing if I was him. Living on borrowed time, fixing to be convicted and expelled. May as well say crazy ****.

The censure vote, which failed, was about Schff’s role in the first impeachment of Trump.

Santos is the most brazen regarding outright denial of facts but he is far from alone. In Santos’ case it is primarily about him personally but the brazen denial of empirical facts permeates the Right.

I believe it has been reported that santo's father is a retired painter. Since santos did everything he could to keep the names secret, you would have to wonder how his father and aunt came up with the money...

Santos' guarantors were revealed when the judge unsealed the records. And it was... [drumroll] ... his dad and his aunt.

People were speculating it was some evil dark money that was springing him from jail and he'd be beholden to satan-worshipping jihadi oil-money communists or something. Getting bailed out by your dad is the most innocent-sounding explanation you can think of.

On the other hand, he's not from a rich family so maybe that makes people wonder where the money came from. Per the NYT, though, they did not have to put up cash or other assets but agreed to be "personally responsible" for making sure Santos showed up for his court dates and following the conditions of his bond. I'm not clear if they had to pay a bail bondsman to post the $500k. That usually costs you 10%, Google tells me.

This is what he was fighting to keep secret..................why? Who cares if its his family, but the guy is so slimy I have to ask myself, where did his parents get the money? IMO, who would really care if its family, he should have just said that, no one cares about them, I am sure they are good people who happens to have a human lie machine for a son

I believe that it has been reported that the dad and santos don't have a good relationship, but it would be normal if a parent (and the aunt) would have posted bond. The suspicions about keeping it secret and how a house painter (dad) and mail carrier (aunt) came up with that amount of money. I'm sure the family members are honest people... but santos? Proven liar.
