    Handhelds also have some nice games coming out (GTA Chinatown, Resistance Retribution, Pokemon, etc.)

    RE5, MLB 09 The Show, and possibly MadWorld should all be pretty good (and MLB 09 would offer a LOT of playtime). Halo Wars may be somewhat mixed, but GT seemed to like it. Ensemble usually makes great games...well, PC games anyway.

    I did forget that Guitar Hero Metallica is scheduled for release on the 29th. I don't know if it is worth mentioning though...don't really keep up with Guitar Hero.

    MLB 09 is being shipped by amazon to my house as we type. I can't wait to get my hands on it, the playstation.blog has been previewing different parts of the game and I am very impressed by some of the new features. If anyone else buys it, make sure to tell me so we can get an online league going.

    My goodness, that MLB The Show [preview] looks so frreakin' realistic it actually makes REAL baseball look exciting. It is mother-effin'-awfully boring.

    Pitch. Strike. Pitch. Ball. Pitch. Strike. *someone scratches their crotch* Pitch. Ball. Pitch. Foul. *someone yawns*. Pitch. Ball hit [crowd goes WILD? FOUL]. Yawn again.

    holy crap, what a dead awful RTS... why do they keep doing this, RTS mixed with console is like water and oil... big ass fail

    Well...yeah, watching it isn't really fun, similar to real baseball (assuming you don't like baseball). But playing it is a lot of fun...maybe even regardless of whether you even like baseball (think of it as a turn-based strategy game ;)). I'd probably rather play 162 9-inning games on The Show than watch a single 9-inning game of real baseball...and I actually like to watch real baseball, at least from time to time.

    Sounds about right. Beta coming out soon (IIRC?) and a 2009 release seems more or less confirmed. Like you said, probably after Blizzcon in August (they are giving away prizes that include beta keys at Blizzcon I think).

    There was a time when Resident evil was a solid game, and one to look foward too. Even when this game previewed I was happy to see it being made. Having played the Demo (and yes I know things change) I have to say that its time for RE to allow movement based firing.

    Two things that really annoyed me in playing the Demo was:

    1. It was weird to watch the zombies run towards me, then suddenly slow down to an abismal crawl. Obviously this was designed so that you could gain position, aim your weapon and shoot due to its limitations with the no run shoot.

    2. When you did get surronded for a bit trying to shoot your way out was a circle motion stand still dizzy fest, or run as far away as you could and line them up.

    Oh and the feel of the game was just overall clumsy. I think Im going pass on this one.

    Yea basically all this is because they designed the whole game around the No-Moving+Shooting

    If they allowed movement+shooting, then the entire game would have to be rebalanced

    I'm pretty hesitant on making the purchase as well, I had fun with the demo but the control really feels lousy at times
