Did anyone else download the MLB 2k7 demo yesterday? I personally loved it and will be buying the game today. I was sad to see MVP baseball go, but this one seems to be just about as good.

I played the demo and wasn't impressed. Although it feels better than last years, it's still missing something I can't put my finger on...

Baseball is one sport that I think EA does a better job than 2k. MVP baseball 2 yrs ago on the XBOX still plays better than this demo. Hopefully, this 2k7 (full version) is better than last years flop...

I saw that some people were saying the demo didn't give a proper representation of the retail version, so I suppose there could still be some hope for those that weren't impressed by the demo.

Should be getting some reviews pretty soon.

Sony seems slow in putting stuff like this up. I think 2K sent in the demo to both XBL and the PSN at the same time, but AFAIK, only the XBL demo is available (unless the PS3 demo was put up in the last few hours). They tend to update on Thursdays I believe, so it might be available then.

Of course, I guess they might be slow in putting out the MLB 2K7 demo so that it doesn't interfere with sales of their own baseball game (MLB 07), which was also released today (although for PS2 and PSP only; PS3 version around April maybe). I guess if MLB 2K7 is like 2K6, there would be little point in doing that though, assuming MLB 07 is as good as (or better than) MLB 06.

MLB 2K7 (Multi)

Last year, MLB 2K6 was hamstrung by fielding and baserunning issues that hampered play. This year, some of those problems were addressed in MLB 2K7, but others have cropped up to replace them: Odd fielding choices, hesitation steps around bases and tons of slowdown that randomly assaults the game. That's also excluding the un-updated rosters, repetitive dialogue and other issues that crop up. 2K7 is still fun, but a number of its issues hamper the enjoyment of this title.

The television styled presentation is hampered by odd slowdown issues, constant rendering passes and overused blur filters.
8.0 Graphics
Some faces look very close to their real life counterparts. Others are simply horrendous, and the visual tricks aren't doing them any favors.
7.5 Sound
Fresh pre-game dialogue from Zelasko and Physioc can't overwhelm stale lines from Miller and Morgan.
7.5 Gameplay
Some of the issues from last year have been fixed, only to be replaced by new ones. Bugs, glitches and other issues help hamper an enjoyable experience.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
The redesigned Franchise/GM Career will give you lots to do, but the numerous slowdown and glitches will decrease your enjoyment of the game.

7.9 from IGN for the 360 version, 7.4 for the PS3 version. Seems like the PS3 version has more slowdown at weird times, and the SIXAXIS controls aren't all that great. No score yet for either at Metacritic.

About what I expected given the initial impressions. I guess PS3 owners might want to wait for the PS3 version of The Show, although that might be a long wait (plus it could turn out like NBA 07).

Looks like you can add Mario Party 8 back in the list. Rumors came out it was delayed until Q2, but apparently Nintendo is going to release it on the 5th. A date has been announced here. I am probably going to pick this one up. My son played MP7 until the disc broke. We had to buy a second one.

I have not noticed any bugs or glitches yet with MLB 2k7. It plays almost exactly like MVP to me. It is a very good baseball game IMO.

Sony has jump-started its newest racing franchise in a fantastic way. Yes, the limited number of tracks and gameplay options hold it back quite a bit, but the fundamental racing is incredible. The variety in vehicle types is great, the track designs are awesome and the online is extremely fun. We simply cannot wait for a sequel.

The small number of tracks and lack of gameplay options hurts this category quite a bit.
9.0 Graphics
Largely fantastic, the cars are excellently detailed, lightning is silky-smooth and the crash are simply "wow". Some shadows have low-res samples, however.

Great engine sounds, explosive crash effects and a rocking soundtrack fill out the audio portion.
9.0 Gameplay
Intense. Furious. Exhilarating. If only there were more options...
7.5 Lasting Appeal
The online play is fantastic fun, but lack of different race types can make it a bit repetitive after a while. Also, no split-screen will disappoint some folks.

It's nice to see a sports franchise build upon the previous year's gains with some new solid game features. Whereas MLB '06 came across as a basic correction of buggy franchise play, MLB '07 actually tries to push the series and the sport further ahead particularly thanks to its Road to the Show career mode, redesigned pitching system and online options. Look no further, because The Show has gone back to back for the crown of the best baseball game around.

Many of the menu overlays, from the Swing Analysis to the Pitch Control System and the Road to the Show goals match the TV presentational style from last year.

Stadiums and crowds still look hideous, but the character models are definitely much sharper than they were last year.

Practically the same from last year, although the three man commentary team is a bit faster on the delivery this time around.

Road to the Show, new pitching systems and online modes had a lot to this year's game.

If you own a PS3, I really advise you to check this game out, assuming you haven't checked it out already on the PC and/or 360. It may not be for everyone, but if you do like it, you can easily get a TON of gameplay with this game. And that's not counting downloadable content and expansions, which aren't yet available for PS3 owners unfortunately (but should make it eventually...particularly if you guys give Bethesda and Sony a reason to support it ). Still, easily one of the best games of last year and probably the best games released on the PS3 (currently the highest rated PS3 game). Yeah, I really like this game.

Cooking Mama (Wii)

Though Cook Off is a lot like Cooking Mama on the DS, something significant has been lost in the translation to the Wii.
The Good: Fifty-five recipes, each with at least a few minigames; cute art style and audio; multiplayer is reasonably fun.
The Bad: Motion controls are unreliable; pacing makes the single-player game almost completely devoid of challenge; you'll have seen everything the game offers in just a few hours; it's $50, when it clearly should be a budget title.

The Good: Huge enemies of the insect and robot variety to blast to death; 53 missions, with five difficulty settings to tackle; tons and tons of wanton alien destruction; two-player cooperative mode.
The Bad: Gameplay is achingly simple and can get monotonous if played for too long a stretch; graphics are on the low-rent side; battle mode is junk; achievements are lame.

COD: Roads to Victory (PSP)

Although it may look like a Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: Roads to Victory lacks many of the aspects that have made the console games so much fun.
The Good: Controls about as good as you could expect a first-person shooter to control on the PSP; manning the guns of a bomber is pretty fun.
The Bad: Feels more like a Call of Duty mod than a sequel; no online play; uninspired gameplay and story; lack of midlevel saves made worse by occasional crashes; it only takes five hours to finish the game.

Blazing Angels (Wii)

From what we’ve played of Blazing Angels previous to the Wii version, the franchise simply has room to grow across the board. Mix in quickly-ported flight control with PS2 graphics (plus a few stronger blur effects), an otherwise solid presentation of the World War II era, and you’ve got a game that had a ton of potential, but just didn’t execute well. The missions aren’t extremely varied in their design, as you’ll mostly be shooting and bombing the closest target or flying to on-screen waypoints, but solid control goes a long way, and it’s a double-edged sword when it doesn’t execute well. There’s definite potential for a Wii flight game, and Blazing Angels is a solid candidate, but it’ll take a true Wii sequel to make it work, rather than a fast fix to a previously-released game; especially when the starting point was passable at best on other consoles.

Not a whole lot of “Wii” in this Wii game. It’s a year later than Xbox, looks worse and plays worse. Decent narration sequences with a WWII feel though.

Blazing Angels Wii may very-well be the lost PS2 version. A few blur effects add to otherwise bland visuals. 16:9 and 480p supported.
6.0 Sound
Decent narration, though it repeats and cuts itself off constantly. Sound effects and music are bearable.
5.0 Gameplay
The controls are too loose, but at least there are guns. A fairly-diverse mix of missions, but overall uninspired control.
5.5 Lasting Appeal
There are multiple campaigns (including mini campaign), and arcade mode is decent. Contrary to advertisements, this game does not support online.

Tiberium Wars is Command & Conquer at its best, and an absolute blast for series fans and newcomers alike.
The Good: Exciting campaign features a ton of quality full-motion video; fast-paced gameplay is fun and exhilarating; scrin race is a fantastic, balanced addition to the c&c universe; battlecast turns the thrilling multiplayer into a spectator sport.

Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII (Wii)

Blazing Angels is shot out of the sky by its shaky graphical performance and overly floaty control options.
The Good: Campaign has a good length to it.
The Bad: Graphics are kind of a mess; motion controls are never quite right; multiplayer options are anemic at best; phoned-in voice acting drains all tension out of the campaign.

I think most of the other games I haven't posted reviews for have been delayed to April (PoP, FEAR, Enchanted Arms, etc.), all except for SC: DA for the PS3 anyway. And speaking of April, all I got to say is I hope you guys have some games on your backlog that you want to put some time into.

BTW, it looks like Photobucket lets you upload videos and embed them into webpages, so I might try downloading Gamespot reviews and uploading those to my Photobucket account (probably could have used my Youtube account prior to this, but whatever). I'm going give that a try from now on.

It's been on PSN for a few days now. I didn't really care for it. The last MVP was the best baseball game ever made (cept maybe Ken Griffy Jr)
