Regardless of what the delegate math ends up being, one thing is for sure. The exit pollsters from today really suck. Badly.
I didn't vote for John Kerry in the "04 Texas primary. He was an idiot. Neither one of the Democratic candidates this time is an idiot. Impeach Bush.
They were on target in Maryland, Virginia and Wisconsin so I thought/hoped they had ironed out their problems. I was wrong.
The Valley counties are reporting. The reason for Clinton's lead. The major metropolitan centers (Houston, Austin, DFW), are still reporting and will push Obama ahead. Let me put it this way. Harris County has 3.9 million people. That is more than the entire Rio Grande Valley (McAllen Metro, Brownsville Metro, Laredo Metro), and you can add El Paso into that, too. Hell, it is larger than Austin and San Antonio's metro areas put together.
Agree. 1% reported and already 50k + lead for Obama .. Harris could be the one that puts Obama ahead in TX
All lot of these votes are 100% reported from rural districts. Most of the urban areas are only around 4% reporting. There's a lot more to go this evening.
It's not fear -- it's saddness. I really like Obama a lot, and I am disappointed the State of Ohio did not share the sentiments (my county did). I have no love for McCain because of his Bomb Iran song. Maybe McCain will start to target the "b****". Also, I have suspicions that the 3 AM commercial put the fear back into the hearts of Americans.
IROC is giddy about how well Ms. Clinton is doing right now (for some reason), but he should ponder that twice as many Texans are voting in the Democratic primary as are voting in the GOpp one. I would be worried if I were a Republican. Impeach Bush.
Same story, Deckard. You Dem types predict ownage of the GOP's chances only to have the center-to-right majority of heartland America vote in a Republican. Remember... even Clinton "the 1st" never had a popular majority in his victories... Perot skewed those results. It's basically been a Republican win since Reagan in '80... throw out the skewed results for Slick Willie... November can wait... but America is not going to wait for the Dems to pick a winner. America will grow tired of the Dems' infighting and lack of unity... Maybe now America will see what's wrong with Washington, and just who it is that's bogging everything down. Only one party has it's nominee... McCain '08! (Hey! Come on over, we actually have an agenda!)
The problem with this logic is that it's unlikely the current margins for Obama in Houston/Austin/Dallas will hold. A majority of Obama voters -- especially the upper class -- voted early, and a majority of the voters who made up their minds in the last three days (61 percent) went for Clinton. That is a big part of the group that voted today.
