Someone who does not listen to Alexander and drives him nuts into Rockets retirement, selling it to anothe guy who knows what it takes to rebuild through the draft Just kidding but yeah why not. Morey is young too and he has other choices.
How about we get some other boy wonder in here? We can even get him from the same school of using mathematics to get players if you want. Heck I am sure Les can find the next GM willing to give away free Ipads and drive up to free agents homes with a caravan of fans to beg him to sign with us. There has got to be a guy out there who can do that too.
Alex Kennedy: The Houston Rockets have discussed a Courtney Lee trade with a number of teams, but league sources said they're asking for a lot in return. 1 minute ago
So Courtney is the most coveted asset out there? What has the GM done all these years.... the hoarder....
It's not as easy as just saying "we wantzzz it" In todays NBA players "of Dwight's caliber" are choosing where they want to play. They tend to want to play in California, New York or with another superstar. It's not that we're a terrible destination, it's just that we're not the prime one. And to get one of those players, you gotta have one (unfortunately). Our best bet is to get a '2nd tier' star (like a Gasol, or a Jefferson, or a Wallace or whatever) and become competitive enough to then attract a big star [[or possibly maybe get the big star through the draft - the Les-says-no strategy]]
Wow, this seems pretty close to the deadline without much movement. I hope teams actually get things done quickly in the next 15 hours or so.
Good for them. He's a solid player. They should be getting a solid player/pick in return. This is like Pawn stars. Someone brings in a Civil War Gun worth 500 dollars, Rick says -"Ill give you 100 bucks for it. Then the seller goes... ahh... thats it??...would you do 400?? Rick- I tell you what... Ill go 200. Seller-Could you do 300???.... Rick... I tell you what... I shouldnt do this but Ill do 250. Thats more than a fair Offer, you have to look at it from my perspective.... -Deal-
Seems like everyone is holding off to see what happens to Howard. It's either going to be very busy or very slow is what it feels like. We know: 1) Dwight won't commit to Orlando. 2) Orlando wants to get rid of that mess of a team they built to "support" Dwight. They have too many bad contracts and would like to get rid of as many as possible in a trade that sends out Howard. 3) Houston has many players and assets I'm sure teams would be willing to take on some of Orlando's baggage for. There's a huge mess in Orlando. They have very little assets outside of Dwight. The problem is they have too many bad contracts and want to get rid of some while receiving valuable assets in return that they can use this season all for a 21 game rental. They really aren't in any position to be calling the shots at this position. Take what you can get and move on.
how about we think long and hard and see why there is a disconnect. Maybe the disconnect is bc those two were brought in at different times. MAAYBE martin was brought in to be a complimentary player to yao and mchale was brought in to coach a yao less team. MAYBE this also prooves that morey didnt just fire adelman to replace him with mchale just so he would have a coach that played whoever morey wanted to play .. morey hires mchale -> people criticize morey for hiring someone who would do whatever he wants him to do martin does not play much _> people critiscize morey for having a coach who doesnt play "moreys players" so basically this guy cant win no matter what right?
Pretty much. Given his situation with Yao & McGrady, this guy has done an amazing job keeping this team respectable while still having a ton of assets to maneuver. It's only been what, 3 years since we were one game away from the western conference finals. We could easily be a team that tanks, has 18 win seasons while getting unlucky with loterry pick busts(Charlotte Bobcats). I'll take 40 win seasons with potential and a ton of assets over tanking.
