The difference I see is that what I said was not a personal attack, more of a commentary or opinion about the Muslim religion, and religion as a whole. Big difference in that and calling someone a derogatory term. DD
I my comment was about Rockets fans, and then the thread starter said I didn't have class, so he got a personal attack right back. And don't try to mince words dude, there are plenty of muslim posters on this board who I'm sure took more offence to your ignorance than my less than classy comment.
This thread has gotten very twisted from it's source , but I would like to add that ... ... common sense and rules dictate that ... Making the playoffs defines whether a team deserves to be in the playoffs NOT the other way around. Whether a team 'deserves' to be in the playoffs is right up there with 'all time best' and 'top 10 lists' for useless reporter/analyst/talking head's - filling air time or print space when they can't think of anything else to say or write.
Right, and an argument could be made that those other teams don't deserve to be in the play-offs either. What if they win the West and go up against the East and lose their shirts like their records indicate? Btm line, if the rule book says the best 8 records from each conf go to the play-offs, then that's the way it is and they deserve it.

What's the problem with you guys? You can all criticize the Rockets for the things you don't think they do right, that's because you love them as a fan of the team. But when some outside bozo, like Marc Stein, made that comments about our team, there is no excuse to let him get away, let alone to agree with him. You fair weather fans are just plain suck.

Marc Stein is an idiot. If he wants something fair, the NBA should let each team play each other same amount of times, rather than playing more against teams in-conference. In addition, entrance to the playoffs should be of the top 16 teams record-wise, rather than top 8 of each conference. Houston may have a bad record against the west, but the last time I checked, the rules say that each win counts the same. Since when is a win against the East weighed less?
I hate to be picky DaDa, but your original post and the one below are indeed ignorant. Notice I did not say you are ignorant (since I do value most... some... a few of your posts ). I say your comment is ignorant because Muslim is not a religion. Islam is the religion. Muslim is a person who adheres to the principals of Islam. In any regards, fair weather fans sicken me as well. We have the record we get the playoffs. Period. The year we made history by 'winning the most amount of games than any team to not make the playoffs', I don't recall hearing anyone saying we deserved it more than other teams.
