A younger Mutumbo, plus a huge expiring contract. An under the radar move that could really pay off.

Here's an idea. Could he be used to absorb Okafor's salary in a trade for Chris Paul?

    lol yeah right!

Wouldn't mind having Tyson Chandler as a backup center. He's a 7 footer and only 27. But dang, for Jared Jefferies only??? What a steal that would be!

As a starting center? Heck NO

    As a backup? Absolutely yes.

    Expiring contract.

Plus he's a legit 7 footer who can come off the bench behind Yao.

How is this even possible? We would be giving up $6 million, but getting $11 million in return. I thought that wasn't legal?

Well first of all, Miami gets Chris Bosh, signed & traded at max money. I believe Toronto sends Bosh, obviously, and receives like a $13 mil trade exception... if I read the article correctly.

A huge trade exception and probably draft pick consideration from Miami.

Toronto sends Chris Bosh to Miami.
Toronto gets their 1st round draft pick back from Miami.

    It's true.

But that's one gigantic expiring contract which can be one gigantic trade asset come the deadline. Jeffries' contract was a nice expiring piece, but we can turn it into a BIGGER expiring piece AND have a pretty good back-up center at the same time.

I think miami would be getting cap space for LeBron, but honestly I don't see that happening. But if we can get Chandler with a trade like that anyway, I would be happy.

This would all be part of the S&T for Bosh. Miami would probably send draft picks to Toronto. No telling what else Toronto would get though.

Battier's ~7 million expiring + Chandler's ~12 million expiring would give us a great chance to trade for a max type guy at the deadline.
