    Time to go after Jefferson.

Could be to get room to sign a guy like Mike Miller, or perhaps to be able to re-sign Udonis Haslem.

How is THIS move stupid for Kahn? He just got a potential star for a freakin' second rounder and a pick swap! Say what you will about Beasley, but dude is younger than several recent draft picks and has the potential to be a 20 ppg scorer in this league. I'm not saying that I'd want him on my team. But he's a quality NBA talent who Kahn got on the cheap. This may actually be one of the first GOOD moves he's made as T-Wolves GM.

Toronto was probably more concerned about taking on Andersen's salary. I think Colangelo viewed it as an "insult" to have to take on salary in the process of the "injury" of having to sign and trade their franchise player out of town.

    But it's all moot now.

Am I the only one who believes AJ is an excellent 4 yet a rotten fit for the Rox?

I dont see why you give up Beasly and deplete your team even more? Well? Miami must have some guys contacting about filling their roster?

Perhaps Mike Miller, then the Shaqtus or Brad Miller with the MLE? LeBron probably will play the Magic Johnson big pg role. You have to think Bosh knows there's a true C coming since he was so adamant on not playing the 4.

You're not the only one. I watched him in Minnesota and I don't want him here.

I agree. He's not the best fit on a team with Yao Ming at center.

I could see Chandler and Diop for Jeffries, Hayes, and Battier. Both ways.

That is too much, I'd rather just get Brad Miller

Chandler seems to be really unwanted in Charlotte, he could probably still be had for cheap

What about when they reach the cap? Did they renounce the exceptions?

You usually renounce your exceptions to get under the cap, but anyhow, once you're under it, the exceptions are gone.

exacly what i'm thinking... CP3+Okafor blockbuster on trade deadline in the work!! it'd be (Chandler+Battier)'s expiring contracts + Brooks & Hill + picks for CP3+Okafor! ok, can this line-up compete w/ Heats' big 3?

    Yao, Okafor
    Scola, Patterson
    Ariza, Budinger
    Martin, Taylor
    Paul, Lowry

their Big 3 has an edge on Scola/Ariza/Martin, but Yao & Paul will kill whoever their scrub at 1 & 5

    Flynn, Sessions
    Johnson, Brewer, Ellington
    Beasley, Webster, L.Haywood
    Jefferson, Love, Hollins
    Darko, Pekovic, Stiemsma (non-guaranteed)

As long as they can get it together to be better than the Knicks.

Juuuuuaaaaa ... RT @manuginobili: Rumor: @LScola4 a Miami? Dicen que necesitan al menos un atleta explosivo en equipo. Grande Luifa! ;-)

    Translation:

Manuginobili (the real one? dunno): rumor: Luis Scola to Miami? They say that they need at least one explosive athlete on the team. Great Scola!

    Scola: Hahahahahahahaha!

    $4,962,240 Beasley + $847,000 Chalmers = $5,809,240

7 roster charges for players below 12 man minimum roster (Beasley 1, Chalmers 2, Lebron 3, Bosh 4, Wade 5)

    $473604 X 7 = $3,315,228

    $58,044,000 salary cap - $5,809,240 - $3,315,228 = $48,919,532

$48,919,532 / 3 = $16,306,511 It's not enough cap space to sign all Lebron, Wade and Bosh to the max.

FWIW: In ESPN NBA chat, Larry Coon just said if he were Houston, he'd call Kahn about Al Jefferson...

which is why they had to deal Beasley.

Since this deal is effectively dead, and the side discussions can easily be had in other threads....lets go ahead and close this one.
