WAIT A SEC. Didn't Tyson want to talk out of his contract? Maybe we can sign him cheap, or work a sign and trade?

I can only imagine how many pages we'd have on a LeBron to Houston thread...

I've got the difference in salaries as $1.75M and don't think Charlotte even approaches the luxury tax unless they bring back Ty Thomas. (Not sure how they'd play Diaw, Wallace, Beasley, AND Thomas).

I think the problem must be Toronto.

They have to dump Beasley to clear space to sign the tres putos. It's not for nothing it's for Lebron. If they don't sign Lebron they keep Beasley. Bosh wants max deal 6 years and they need to make Toronto happy to do that. The 4 team deal was a way to achieve all. My guess is Toronto wants more than their 1st round pick back from Miami and Miami wants us to give them more.

Charlotte wants Beasley and would like to dump Chandler to get him. In comes Houston... they take Chandler off Bobcats hands but they need to send out 10+ Mil back in salaries to make it work. If they send Jefferies to the Bobcats
and Andersen and Taylor or Johnson to Toronto everything works. The only hangup I see is Toronto either doesn't want or scrubs or they want some picks t go with them

I do not want Tyson Chandler at all. Is this supposed to be a pity gift for not getting Bosh?

But, but, but....the economy and the new CBA's coming! Surely signing a multi-year deal for financial security and leaving 12 million dollars on the table is the right way to go :p

The fact that some posters here thought that being scared of the new CBA was reason enough to let go of 12 million dollars for a 4 year deal that might not even exceed 20 million dollars still amuses me to this day.

The article explicitly states that the Heat can still sign Lebron James. They would just take a financial hit of 1 mill a year.

The hangup is Toronto not wanting anything to do with helping Bosh out in any way, even at the cost of letting him walk with getting nothing in return. Really stupid move IMHO.

That deal might be dead, anything is still possible. Morey is truly being a predator.

The Heat and the Rockets are pushing with this.

Since the Rockets are in the same division as the Hornets may be part of the reason the Hornets said no to this deal. They prefer if Jared Jeffries came from a less threatening team.

Hornets? Hornets are not involved. It would be Miami, Houston, Toronto, Charlotte.

seems to be, if you want one of the stars, you need to take a ****ty contract with it, e.g. if you want paul you need to take okafor, which is probably why they want this sort of contract.

IF............we acquire Tyson Chandler for Jeffries, David Andersen, and Alexander Johnson...........

we could then trade New Orleans Chandler, Battier, Hayes, Hill, and Brooks for

    Chris Paul
    Emeka Okafor
    James Posey

The salaries work. This would be the very best deal New Orleans could net for those guys. No other team could provide them nearly as much salary relief along with the addition of two young talents in Brooks and Hill.

    Paul/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Ariza/Budinger/Posey
    Yao/Okafor
    Scola/Patterson

We should have to try and keep Chandler, since he and Paul are good friends

That would be awesome. That is what you call the art of trading!
