If by "They", you mean the Bobcats, they HAVE to take back filler in order to get Michael Beasley.

From Charlotte's perspective, they're getting a potentially better player than Chandler in Beasley. They just need to also take back an expiring contract to make the numbers work. So, they'd presumably be okay taking Jeffries in order to "upgrade" from Chandler to Beasley. Plus, it doesn't hurt them financially for next season, and they still have Beasley for one more year after that on his rookie scale contract.

I'm in given that this doesnt hinder our ability to re-sign Scola and Lowry. Chandler has a mammoth contract through the season which will serve us well near the trade deadline. Plus, he might see the court more often than jeffries.

So the rumor is the Rockets give up J.Jefferies for Chandler?

    Seems to easy.

Anyone else under the impression Daryl will throw in an iPad, a couple Morey Bucks, along w J.Jefferies to net Crash, Chandler, and an unprotected first rounder?

..because i'm pretty sure thats exactly what is about to happen.

We are also forgetting that if this trade goes through, Charlotte could let Thomas go to the Nets and replace his slot with Beasley. Which would work out for us since we can then re-sign Scola.

I have posted on the board my dislike for Chandler's game on more than one occasion. He is, assuming he is healthy, a great athlete, but I can't stand watching him play. He is weak, and he clearly doesn't like mixing it up in the paint. What really irritates me is the way he reacts after getting physically dominated. After he gets packed down and scored on or shoved around like a rag doll rebounding, he scowls and tries to act like he's pissed and that he's a badass. He is very fond of shoving after the play and at staring down someone to the back of their head or throw a flailing elbow that misses the mark. He seems like that kid we all grew up with that would talk much crap but would disappear around go-time. You know the type, a little like Hillboy.

Despite not being a fan of Chandler, I do think this would be a good move. As a backup I think he would be fine. He brings length, and as I stated he is athletic. The fact is the Rox would be trading a guy not in the rotation for one that will get 12-20 minutes a game. Plus, the large expiring is a financial bonus going forward. You have to do this move if it's available.

The point is it's irrational to argue that a swap of JJ for Chandler doesn't improve the team. If you really believe it doesn't help or it would make the Rockets worse, you simply aren't looking at this move objectively.

If we are only giving up Jefferies, I love this deal. We get our backup C that can block shots and run the floor. I think he'd be very good with the 2nd unit and Lowry setting him up. 12 mill expiring can be flipped possibly taking a run at say a Carmelo, CP3, or Granger ( why not think big) What's not to like? I think it's win all the way around. Plus Chandler has been quoted saying he wants to prove he's healthy, contract year motivating him even more.

Yeah, sounds like Raptors want something for the effort if they are taking on the salary of Andersen. I would consider the Rockets 2011 2nd round pick (Clippers Swap rights). But if I were Morey, I would PUSH on Miami's owner, Mickey Arison, to send 3M cash in Toronto's way to cover the deal.

The ONUS is on Miami to move Beasley. They are the most interested party. It is Miami that has the financial windfall of Wade/Bosh (maybe LeBron). They should pony up the 3M cash package (not Les).

    Agree?

P.S. Bima, great job A-B-Cing the advantages of Chandler (and his contract).

Agree, at the most outside of JJ and Anderson I would give up a future second rounder and nothing more.
