    Thanks!

I wouldn't trade Landry or Brooks in a Bosh deal unless there was a guarantee that he would re-sign with us. I was thinking if we could get far enough under the cap to sign him and Wade, that would make his re-signing a lock. But if not, I'd rather hold on to Landry or Brooks.

Heres one questions I have for us all....

If Brooks is traded, do you think that Lowery could be a good starting PG?
I hesitate somewhat about this. On one hand he shows alot of potential and takes it to the basket. But i still question his shot...

Whoever we get back in the T-Mac trade could replace the starters we lost in the Bosh deal.

    Houston is smart.

There was an article on Martin earlier, I'll post it in case you or anyone else hasn't read it yet.

I love Carl Landry, but this is a classic sell high kind of player if you can package him to get someone like Bosh.

I don't think Bosh is one of our priorities, or he shouldn't be. Morey was very high on Amare so I can understand he wants Bosh, but i'd rather get a pure SG all-star. And I do think Bosh is overrated, so paying a Brooks+Landry would be too much IMO.

Just please don't trade Brooks, Lowry, and Landry.

I think I'd be ok with sending Landry over Scola as Scola is the better rebounder, can play some 5, and is more effective without the ball. Yes, he's older, but I figured his shelf life is as long as Yao's is.

As well, I think we can get away with sending less talent if we send Landry. If I'm Toronto, Landry & Brooks + filler (Cook, Dorsey, Taylor) sounds great. If it's Scola and Brooks, I'd be asking for Budinger too.

I'd love it if we could send them Landry & Ariza + filler. If you can do that, then I don't think you have to do much of anything with Tmac. Let him walk and fill in the empty SG/SF with the MLE (not all the free agents are going to get contracts above MLE) or by draft. You can still play Brooks at SG a bit to take some of the pressure off.

Gotcha, I got in my head that Toronto would want both Scola and Landry while like you said they may only want one(More likely Landry)

And hopefully everyone remembers that Bosh is young. Both Scola and Landry are older than him.

Agreed. Bosh is long, athletic, and skilled, and younger than Carl. To get talent you have to give up talent. But, I wouldn't give up both Carl and AB, its either/or in my book.

Actually, they could give up either Battier or Ariza, Landry or Scola, Brian Cook, and either Jermaine Taylor or Chase Budinger. Toronto would probably want Ariza, Landry, Budinger and will take Cook because of his expiring contract. I would rather give them Taylor rather than Budinger but I'm not Toronto.

They will demand Landry, and probably Brooks too.

I don't see how that deal gets done without including a third team, though.

Darn straight! Brooks is to much to ask for even if they give us Calderon. We would have no backcourt at all as much as I like Lowry he's not a starter yet. To give up Landry would be tough as well as we would be going on a reverse Utah deal trading for a Boozer when we already have a Millsap in Landry for cheap.

If Morey is dead set on trading T-Mac then our only shot at Bosh is probably trading *sniff* Landry and Brooks.

Why would we want to involve the Knicks in that? I don't see why the knicks care as it's just trading expiring for expiring for them. No benefit.

For us, I don't think we need to sweeten the put for them by throwing in Larry Hughes.

For us, you're essentially wasting tmac's contract to get Jack (literally and figuratively). Better to let him walk as you can find a FA better then Jack. Seriously, I'd rather throw in Bud and Taylor then do that.

Not only that, I think signing Bosh makes it even harder for the Rockets to retain Landry. When he becomes a free agent, he'll be unrestricted. Looking at what a premiere 6th man makes (e.g, Manu) and what David Lee's asking price was in the summer. With the money spent on a Bosh-Yao frontcourt the Rockets won't be able to afford a $12M backup at that position. IMO Landry is young enough for another team to offer him that and a starting position.
