Without Tmac's salary we'd have a hard time even getting the salaries to match. Gutting our team to acquire Bosh might be worth it, though.

Toronto would try to pawn off all their bad contracts AND get at least two of our young players(Landry, Brooks, Scola, Lowry, Budinger).

Why would we do this for a one year rental of Bosh, when we wouldn't even be contenders with him here this year anyway?

I would give up Brooks + Scola/Landry + fillers for Bosh. I thought T-Mac's contract would be our best asset in a trade Bosh (Houston could take on a bad contract) but its interesting that Morey is pursuing a deal without it. That said, I doubt that BC trades Bosh ANYWHERE especially considering their recent streak.

That is an automatic 'no' from the Rockets. Houston isn't going to take on ANY bad contract for ANY player (with the exception of Lebron James and co.). This became clear during the Philly negotiations when Morey refused to take on Dalembert or Brand for Iggy. If Houston really wanted Bosh so bad that they would be willing to take on Hedo then they might as well keep T-Mac and sign him in in the offseason.

IMO, I doubt Philly will give up Iggy for just T-MAC

Ironic you say that, because unless Toronto asks for Scolandry in the trade(unlikely since they'll just take Scola OR Landry), the Rockets financially ends up with either Scosh or Boshandry. Whereas by staying pat, they end with with Scolandry.

I'm going to hazard a guess to say that Bosh with either Scola or Landry is superior to Scolandry.

Morey has said he would be willing to take back salary IF we got a franchise player and I would assume Morey believes Bosh is that type.

    Bosh/Calderon/Rasho N.

    for

    TMAC/Brooks/Landry

I know the article said maybe no TMAC but if we take back Calderon we would NEED to include TMAC to make it work and get that contract off their hands.

IMHO if a deal were to have a chance it would be structured something like:

    Scola/Shane/Cook - Bosh.

I think Raps bite. Does DM the GM?

Ah, good point. Morey doesn't see (neither do I) Iggy as a franchise type player...probably doesn't like his not-so-good contract either.

I wouldn't mind Calderon but no way to Hedo.

As I said it long time ago:

Bosh + Bank for Tmac + Landry will definitely get them interested.

Im curious why you say that. One was the a starter on a finals team last year, the other just had a major injury and it is unclear what he will be when he returns.

Yabosh, as well, with Bosh able to rotate into the 5 next season, playing alongside Landry.

I have said this many times, the rockets want Bosh, Bosh want to be a member of the rockets and we have all players they want. The chance to get Bosh is not impossible.

I don't want to make a 2nd thread since I can't cut and paste from my phone but if somebody can go to the washington post, there's an article there too with a writer talking about he heard the Rockets were talking with Wash about Butler for McGrady and filler. Nothing we really heard before, but he does point out that Mike James would not be part of a potential deal since the Rockets don't want anything to do with him. Again. (lol)

Also states that talks came to a halt after the Arenas incident.

Getting Bosh for young talent and then flipping TMac for Caron Butler?

    A potential Yao - Bosh - Ariza - Caron Butler - Brooks (?) starting 5?

How does anyone not like that!

Something that hasnt been brought up yet... Making a trade for Bosh and going after Joe Johnson in the offseason would be NUTS! I'm not sure who we'd trade but can you imaging YAO, BOSH and JOE JOHNSON in the lineup?? I'm sure both can be had but obviously would have to get rid of some younger guns...
