Bosh is no superstar... yet. He can develop nicely along Landry, however IF we were get em' who would we give up? i would favor on giving up old Luis Scola he's 31? id like the rockets to steal a draft pick from someone.

Did I ever bring up Pau's name? But sure why not? He was stuck in Memphis, put up great numbers but I WATCHED him play there and you can see the talent. You can't just look at the numbers, you actually have to watch the players. Many of us have and know the kind of player Bosh is and how his skill set can really help this team. Chris Bosh is a game changer and right now our team is nothing but a bunch of role players who have to stretch beyond their natural roles, because their is no creator on offense aside from AB. Yea this team has had a nice run but how long can they keep it up and how far can this team take us as is?

I also think, adding a YOUNG 6 10/6 11 All Star PF/C to a team where our starting center is 6 6 can not really hurt the cause

The KG comparison is a little off, but before Pau went to the Lakers, his reputation was exactly the same as the one you're pinning on Bosh right now.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned the elephant in the room yet in the prior 26 pages - but f-ck it, let's just trade Yao for him, straight up.

    Toronto might do it.

Pau's reputation was exactly the same as Bosh's before he went to the lakers. People thought he was soft and played no defense. The reputation unfairly carried over to his new team. I think too much blame was placed on his "softness" in their loss in the finals against the celtics. Winning a championship really erases a lot of faults, though.

IMO, Bosh right now is better than Pau ever was in Memphis.

I wasn't comparing Bosh's talent level with Garnett's talent level. I was using the KG comparison to denounce how unfair the "What has X won?" when players aren't given the opportunity to succeed, and what happens when they are

I have to disagree. Thomas may not have lived up to the hype yet, but he's young, athletic and is a good size (6-10). Even with Landry's amazing production this year, Toronto will have to be attracted by Thomas's potential.

Hinrich gives Toronto a glut at the PG spot, but there should be quite a few teams interested in a trade for him.

And this is on top of a pick that should be #10 or better. IMO a very good offer, and Morey may have to offer both Brooks and Landry to get Toronto's attention.

For all of the people out there terrified of losing Brooks, would it hurt any less if Monte Ellis was coming back?

I put this together on ESPN.

    Houston gets:
    Bosh
    Ellis
    Biedrins

    Toronto gets:
    Brooks
    Budinger
    Scola
    Cook

    Golden State gets:
    T-Mac

Houston: adds a lot of talent to the team, but also a lot of salary. also get to keep Landry

Toronto: gets a proven young guard who may eventually make an all star team, a young shooter who looks likes a future starter, and a very good veteran forward with an expiring contract. they can sign him if the like or let him walk

Golden State: gets a selfish piece of cr.....err, they get to cut a lot off their payroll. (for the record, I was hoping T-Mac could make it work here, too bad)

thoughts??? I've been a fan of Monte's game for a long time. He doesn't have the range of Brooks, but he's a much more efficient scorer. For someone at his position to shoot close to 50% from the field is pretty remarkable. Considering those two are the same age, I can't ever see Brooks surpassing Ellis as a player.

I totally understand that. It even helps your argument that when KG had Cassell and Sprewell playing alongside him, he took them pretty deep into the playoffs.

Actually, I just checked and Thomas's contract has a team option for next season at around $6.3M.

But I didn't realize how big Hinrich's contract was. $9M next season and $8M the season after that. Yikes.

Well, it's up to Toronto then. Would they rather take Thomas and Hinrich's bad contract (plus a pick) for Bosh, or would they take Scola + Battier + Cook + Houston 1st Round Pick, for Bosh.

I see another lopsided trade for the rox. Why get biendrens, keep landry, get bosh, and keep Yao? It would make sense to move yao somewhere in your grand scheme unless you're scared :p

I don't think Bosh is the franchise player we need to put us over the top.

I would hate for us to gut the team to bring Bosh over, but if Morey can bring him over for just sacrificing one or two of our young assets, I would be fine.

Obviously we still need that wing player by using T-mac's expiring, with Iggy or Butler not being anywhere close to what we need. However, if we can get another young talent along with one of those two plus Bosh, I think that would make us a pretty formidable team.

Although it would still be questionable as to whether or not we would have the character/mental strength to make us a contender.

I would trade Landry or Scola + Battier for Bosh

Then Tmac for Arena or Iggy

    Lineups:

    Brooks
    Iggy or Arena
    Ariza
    Bosh
    Yao

    Bench:

    Hayes
    Scola
    Lowry

    PRETTY GOOD LINEUPS TO ME!

Given your two choices, I would go with Chicago because of Thomas's upside and the lottery pick.

Easily Toronto's offer. Thomas + pick > pick, they want "young assets". Raptors are weakest at SG and as a bonus Hinrich would offer more D to their lineups.

If you ask anyone in their organization also, pau quit on the squad. He was moping, didn't want to be there, thats why they got so less for him. 3 yrs later, it looks like they got more than enough for him and thats what people don't look at. Obviuously, they had a really good grade on his brother. I remember pre draft people always said if his brother could keep his weight down or get in shape, he's a more rugged player than Pau. Well. look at that now along with the 3 first round draft picks and memphis did ok. They saw the team heading nowhere and shipped battier, gasol, and all the other that couldn't win a playoff game off and got back younger talent.

LOL at even thinking Cook, Battier, and Battier can make this trade happen. Why not make it Harris, Cook, and Dorsey, seems fair.
