For the people that want Bosh but don't want to give up Landry or Brooks.

To get Bosh we have to at least give up 1 of them.

See but the problem is Scola is MONEY when it comes to pressurized Playoffs game. He's a WINNER!! That's why i would rather trade Landry even though he did great this year.

But giving up Landry + Brooks?? That's way too much....i wouldn't give up Brooks.

Landry has been great for a long time. He's just getting more looks now.

He was basically perfect in game 6 against LA at home.

A no 2nd round for a no 2nd round. I think it's a fair trade. Giving up AB will be stupid.

Landry and Ariza are the two most likely pieces to be involved.

Tracy could be involved only if we get Johnson in return and get to keep Lowry/Cook/Any other expiring contract.

Any deal that involves Brooks ain't happening.

And on second note what do they have to lose knowing everybody else knows McGrady is on the block thus driving up his value and picking Bosh, because that was their plan for this offseason. Think outside the box here Morey and management could be driving up mcGrady's value making other GM's scratch their head about his value with news.

I'd go so far as to say we probably need to give up both. I can't imagine another team can't top an offer of Landry/Battier/salary fillers for Bosh. Unless we really have a situation similar to Orlando T-Mac, where Bosh can dictate the terms based on not wishing to resign with a particular team.

Personally, I think Bosh is more than worth it. Morey is just simply too good with identifying good players in the draft and in FA. I can easily see him replace Brooks' contribution in the offseason with our MLE and/or picks. Meanwhile Lowry can take over as the starter seamlessly.

Yeah, we really wouldn't be missing much. It's silly to whine about losing Landry in a Bosh deal when we would probably be able to retain Scola. There would be no spot for Landry with Bosh and Scola taking all the PF minutes. It wouldn't be that hard to loose Brooks either. The Raptors wouldn't take him on as their 3rd PG's so if we traded him we would probably get one of their two main PG back.

So, we would probably be looking at something like:
Landry + Brooks + filler for Bosh + Jack

If "young assets" is the key to getting a Bosh trade done...

Rockets also have their 2010 1st round draft pick and/or rights to Eliyahu and Llull as extra incentive.

Toronto are just under the tax. So they'd be reluctant to take on more money. In the above scenario the Raptors reduce their team salary by around $1.2M. This allows them to waive expiring scrubs, either O'Bryant, Nesterovic, Wright, or Weems, to create the necessary roster space. With only 14 players on Toronto's roster, they only need to waive 2 players beforehand.

It would give more purpose to a McGrady trade for multiple pieces. For e.g, McGrady → Martin + Nocioni + [Casspi or (Donte + May)]

    Brooks, Lowry
    Martin, Budinger
    Battier, (Casspi/Donte)
    Scola, Nocioni
    Bosh, Andersen

    Jack, Calderon
    DeRozan, Belinelli
    Turkoglu, Ariza
    Landry, Amir
    Bargnani, Hayes

I apologize. I thought when you said "deep" it meant in qualitative terms.

Nah, VanGundier does it with more than just me, but lately he has been focused on me in chat, and in the GARM.

I think he has a crush, because everything he did in this thread was extrapolated out from the original point into an exaggerated stance of nothingness.

I don't work the cap, don't really care too....and I don't care if Les decides to spend money OVER the cap......but what I don't do is beat down other users because they have an idea about other players they might want.

You see, that is what being a fan is all about speculating on what would make your favorite team better......

There is nothing worse than some saying "LES WON'T GO INTO LUX TAX LAND"...like they really know what he would or would NOT do....It isn't their money....lol....sure they may be correct, and probably are....but...

I mean it is a fricken team based website.....everyone can have their opinion....who cares if it is different than your own....who cares if it is speculation or unrealistic....

I mean seriously......the hate in here, and a lot of it directed at me, is just humorous.

Except when it's Tracy McGrady. Then posting 300 times to beat a dead horse in a thread is in order.

Nothing worse than discussions about realistic spending expectations based on public statements made by the GM and the owner and the spending history of the team? How about the inanity of the Spanoulis/Wafer = the Future stuff, the obsession over Wafer's physicals, the 100s of repetitive "I HATE TREVOR ARIZA, we must get rid of him" posts, the fantasy scenarios with no basis in reality?

I don't doubt Toronto. They can either do that, or watch Bosh come back to America this Summer.

Talent-wise, this would be a pretty good haul for the Raptors - two young starter-caliber players and a defensive specialist. Given Bosh's contract situation, I can't see any other team offering as much. (Instead of McGrady, maybe Sacramento tries to get Bosh + change by offering Martin and Nocioni?)

However, I don't think Ariza would be willing to come off the bench, so Toronto would probably look to move him in a second trade. I know many posters here think Ariza is worthless, but I'd bet there are plenty of GMs who disagree.

Or he could be the next Drexler and get a ring.
