    LOL

    Successful Trade Scenario
    Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Houston, Toronto, Philadelphia and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston, Toronto, Philadelphia and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

If we got BOSH without giving up Landry . . .
Wouldn't it still cut into Landry's minutes?

To be honest if we have to give up either of those guys for anyone...I don't want the trade done. Find a way to get somebody without having to give up Landry, AB, or Lowry and I'll j*zz in my pants.

Would Toronto be interested in Yao if they could sign him long-term?

I'd try to flip Yao for Bosh, if Morey & Adelman believe CB4 can man the 5 position. That swap alone would make the Rockets faster, less turnover prone, replace Yao's production (nearly identical stats) and floor presence, and make us darkhorse contenders THIS year.

That said, Morey could still have all assets at play to broker a McGrady deal before the deadline. If he's aiming to trade for a all-star caliber wing player, it'd look something like this:

    Brooks/Lowry
    *All-Star caliber player/Ariza
    Battier/Budinger
    Scola/Landry
    Bosh/Hayes/Andersen

*All-Star caliber players that I could see Morey eyeing:
    J.Johnson/Redd/Iguodala/C.Lee/Gallinari/Granger/Deng/Martin/C.Butler

Of course, we'd probably have to give up one of our rotational players and take back a bad contract to achieve this (ie. package Lowry or Scola in the McGrady deal if you know you won't be able to retain both of them).

See this is what majority of Rox fans seems to be feeling, they need ot wake up.

You CAN'T build a team around a Carl Landry or AB, but you can build a team around Bosh.

Doesn't matter if the team built around Bosh wins it all or not, the point is Bosh is a star in the league, and AB is a good start and Landry is the best bench player in the league.

If every team in the league built aroudn their 6 man and a good starter the Rox would have had multiple championship wins by now.

Perhaps a three team trade with the Knicks where we can shield our assets:

    NY Gets:
    T.McGrady

    Houston Gets:
    C.Bosh
    J.Jeffries

    Toronto Gets:
    C.Mobley
    N.Robinson
    W.Chandler
    L.Scola

I imagine one of Scola or Landry would have to go-- either in a Bosh trade or in a subsequent deal. Given that the Rockets, hopefully, will have Yao back, and will likely still have Chuck and Andersen, you can't just take in a 35 mpg guy and not send someone away without messing up the minutes. I imagine the rotation, if everyone is healthy would have to be Yao+Bosh starting, whoever is left between Scola and Landry first off the bench, with Chuck/Andersen forming a platoon for 4th big/specialist role.

Yes, Yao is an injury risk but if you are adding another full time big keeping both Landry and Scola for insurance is excessive since they have cheap options in Hayes and Andersen right behind them.

    Bye bye Landry

    Make it happen Morey

Landry's value will never be higher - Luis is a solid producer and can play the 3 too in the game.

I would personally love to give up Ariza - not bashing him now - I just never wanted him in the first place

Regardless, I would love to keep both AB and Kyle but if one of them goes - oh well

There is NO way we can sign CB in free agency - the birds right now with the trade is the way to go!

I'm not as high on Chris Bosh as some of you are.
I think his numbers are overinflated (especially rebounding) because he's pretty much the only player that plays deep position in Toronto. Bargnani, who plays 33 mins a night, grabs the same amount of rebounds as Carl Landry who plays 25 mins a night.

Also, Toronto is absolutely on fire right now. Their 'core' of Bosh, Bargnani, and Turkoglu is finally starting to click. You look at their roster on paper and it's actually quite good. Who's to say Bosh really wants a trade or management is looking for one? Bosh is probably in the best situation teammate-wise out of Lebron, Wade, and him.

Finally, this trade would leave us with no flexibility to trade for a stud perimeter player that we so desperately need, way more than another post player. Can you really contend for a championship with Brooks and Ariza as your backcourt?
