It's a wink wink deal when Chris Paul opted in for a trade with us last summer. That's why I said numerous times to pay him what he deserved.

Some of you just doesn't get it and refused to pay him. I don't want to go into deals as it has been said million times already.

I too believe that it's a lock that Paul is back with the Rockets next season, I do find it hard to believe that he'd already be recruiting Lebron.

Stein's article came out prior to the start of the Finals. Seems like a serious breach of etiquette to interrupt Lebron's Finals preparation to talk about next year. Let's face it, if Cleveland wins the Finals then Lebron likely doesn't leave. If Paul were to start talking to him about teaming up next year before the finals even started, that's implying that they didn't have a chance to win. I don't think you do that. You would at least wait until the finals conclude before you start with the recruiting pitches. I don't see him doing anything to distract Lebron from concentrating on the Finals.

i have no doubt cp3 already had prior discussions with lebron about houston. even if it was just jokingly or whatever. at some point after cp3 decided he was coming here, they've had conversations on a scenario that had lebron in houston with him. its much the same way about how harden and cp3 had prior interactions. but as far as right now, no way is cp3 doing his recruiting to where its a distraction to lebron. hes likely just letting him be so he can do what he does in this series and talk to him after the series. I think this already recruiting lebron angle from the media has been spun a bit out of actual context

It's certainly possible that CP3 has said things to Lebron in the past but Stein's article seemed to imply that he was currently actively recruiting.

That's one way to read it. The other way would be that Stein was saying "You know he will be recruiting Lebron because why WOULDN'T he be?"

Chris Paul and Lebron are friends. The Rockets will be aggressive with premier free agents. Of course Chris Paul will pitch the Rockets to Lebron.

Boom. I just gave you the same story Mav Stein did.

It's really hard for me to envision LBJ coming here. I think today's version of Lebron cares too much about his legacy to join a team with the current league MVP and another top 10 player. I think he'd be viewed as a guy that had to form super teams to win titles. But maybe CP3 and Morey can convince him if they get a meeting, we do have the notion of a stable, well run organization that the Cavs and recently Lakers do not have.

I'd still put it at about 40/40/10/5/5 Cavs/Lakers/Rockets/Sixers/Spurs. Lakers if he can get PG and say one other top Free Agent to go with what they have. But also very likely he does another 1 yr deal in Cleveland and reevaluates next year.

Lebrons a top 3 player all time. He knows no one will remember how he got to 5-6 titles in 20 years, he just needs to get there. Houston gives him the best chance, outside of GS.

The alternative is for him to finish his career 3-6 in the finals. I think he'd rather add a few more championships to his record as he starts his decline while getting to play on a team with 2 superstars that can take some of the heat off of him. The Warriors broke the NBA, by picking up KD his only chance to win again is in Houston. The good news is that due to KD's b**** move, Lebron won't catch any flak for heading to Houston.

IMO there's no chance he throws away the rest of his career with the Lakers or Spurs and I think he's got his bags packed in Cleveland already. The only realistic options are Houston where he can win or Philly where he can win the east and lose to the Rockets or Warriors.
