Irving is a high end superstar? If you are gonna play only one side of the ball you better be James Harden or Steph Curry level on offense which Irving obviously ia not.

Boston is super lucky they scored big on Tatum and Brown, otherwise their "Medium 3" would never go anywhere.

Here's my so complex it could never happen but what the hell

    OKC in : Love, Korver
    OKC out : Melo + 2 picks

Gets rid of Melo, get's WB's college team mate, gives them a legit shot at keeping PG13

Hou in : Lebron, Melo signed to taxpayer MLE
Hou out : Anderson, Gordon, 2 picks, $5.6m

Lebron because Lebron, Carmelo because Lebron

    Mil in : Gordon
Mil out : Snell (my lord that contract is bad), filler, 2 picks

These guys need out of that Snell deal, are locked salary wise and desperately need some shooting talent.

Cle in : Melo (waive and stretch), Anderson, Snell, filler, 6 picks, $5.6m
Cle out : Lebron, Love, Korver

This reduces their cap hit by 30m, gets them 6 draft picks and helps them torpedo their way up the lottery.

James Harden’s constant iso play and inability to shine brightly in the biggest moments would undoubtedly become a massive migraine for James. Clint Capela also doesn’t really fit with LeBron’s game. Big men alongside LeBron have been forced to become shooters and that isn’t happening with Capela. Paul and LeBron could become a reenactment of the last time LeBron joined a member of the Banana Boat crew.

Sooooo, basically this writer is saying that LeBron is a horrible fit here. Ok, so if a big man who operates inside the paint is incompatible with LeBron, then I'm guessing Philly is out of the question as well, right? And there's no sense in returning to Cleveland with Tristan on the roster. So who does that leave? The Lakers and Celtics?

This is a terrible article. Philly ramping up to challenge the Warriors? WTF. I would take this depleted Celtics team over them.

While it is true that we have little to offer, the question is whether the Cavs want to lose Lebron for nothing. Getting EG and another first rounder from us is better than nothing.

Sure for now. But Philly can come back revamped and changed. We dun know with such a raw and young team.

There’s no better basketball option for LeBron than the team that already pushed the Warriors to their limit. Houston has the shooting, the playmaking, and the defensive versatility to give James his best team in years—maybe ever. Imagine a staggered rotation with two of LeBron, James Harden, and Chris Paul on the floor at all times. All three would have to sacrifice some measure of control, but in doing so could go full bore more often. James wouldn’t have to conserve energy out of worry for being his team’s only creator. Concerns over Harden wearing down over the course of a postseason would be alleviated. Paul’s minutes and workload could be managed even more carefully, hopefully leading to healthier ends. Houston wouldn’t even have to change its style, though it could; with LeBron comes the flexibility not only to play in a wide variety fo ways, but to dominate through them. As it stands, James is a terrifying isolation scorer, a pinpoint passer, and a certified switch-buster—a player so strong and so dynamic as to invalidate the defense of choice against the Rockets. The freedom to use any of three stars on either side of the pick-and-roll—and that’s without even considering the ascendant Clint Capela—would put every opponent into an impossible bind. Creating enough room for James would demand some creative problem solving on Houston’s part, but the result would be well worth the trouble. — Rob Mahoney

Theoretically, yes. I'm just going by the logic(or lack thereof) of the writer of the article. He's insisting that Capela is a bad fit with LeBron because he plays inside the arc. That exact same standard can be applied to Embiid in Philly. And the Sixers are not trading him away in order to "revamp".

I am sure Embiid can create for himself and shoot jumpers. That alone makes the difference.

I am sure Clint will try to shoot it in his career, but we shall see when.

Embiid is a shooter and can move with the ball. The player that clogs the Sixers is Simmons (for now). He's a phenomenal physical talent, but really he's just a bigger Ricky Rubio with less willingness to shoot. Embiid would have no problem going out to the perimeter to clear up space for Lebron and the two of them could abuse teams on switches. Embiid can take guys off the dribble as well and can back them down. The problem they would have is that Ben's guy can always help. They'd have to stagger their minutes. If Lebron is going to be in attack mode Simmons is dead space.

Not true, PF are asked to be shooters and Tucker can space the floor from the corner for LeBron. The cavs beat the Warriors with Tristan Thompson starting who is less offensively gifted than Capela. Capela will be fine if the Rockets do land LeBron. There are different talents and styles that will be at play here compared to Miami and 2nd run with the Cavs. The Rockets do not have a traditional post up big man the way Bosh and Love were. IMO Capela would thrive with LeBron there the same way he has with Harden and Paul.

As for staying in the East that actually makes a ton of sense of his goal is to make the Finals, but his goal is to win a ring. The only team in the east that I feel can win a ring next season if he joins them is Boston and I dont think Boston will make a move to get him. Philly has a ton of talent, but I think they are still way too raw right now. They lost to the Celtics primarily because of poor mistakes down the stretch, granted that it would be LeBron handling those possessions and not Simmons it still would be tough to know that he may have teammates that still aren't ready yet for the larger stakes games. LeBron works best in ISO style plays where he can create for himself and others which is the type of offense Houston runs with Paul and Harden taking turns. Philly thrives on ball movement and sharing, LeBron can easily fit into that since he is that good, but I am not sure if that will be the best use of his skills right now given his urgency to try to win another ring as he goes into his 16th season. Philly right now seems like they are more poised to be the the team 2-3 down the road, esp given Embiid's health situation. Right now everyone on the Rockets are hungry to win a ring and despite missing a lot of shots in game 7 it wasnt like they quit or became complacent. They played better than the Warriors did in game 7 but just didnt have the talent to match up with them with Paul's injury and they missed a lot of shots they normally make.

I have no idea where LeBron may ultimately will go this off season but I think he would come west if he feels he can be on a team that can beat Golden State. I dont think he worries about when he has to face them. Like facing GS in the WCF or 2nd round and beating them just means that the rest of the potential opponents would be on paper easier to beat. Maybe Philly is that team depending on what other moves they may make this offseason to bring in some more vets to support their young studs.

The only thing I just hope is that LeBron doesn't hold the league hostage for too long as he makes his choice the same way he did the last two teams he was a free agent. No teams really made major moves until that first domino fell.

You would think that these asshats in the national media would think twice before questioning "fit" when it comes to the Rockets after the CP3 and Harden made them look like morons this season. But nope, you have the same idiots now coming out saying, "LeBron would never work in Houston! The pieces don't fit!" Dumbasses, when star players WANT to make it work, it usually works. I still think the odds of LeBron coming here are slim, but it's certainly not because of fit.
