I do appreciate your evaluation but I don't buy it. Other players have also tried to play with this type of injury prior to getting the dreaded micro fracture surgery such as clowney, t-mac, etc.

Both were listed game to game but after trying to play with the pain they realized the only option was surgery. With Howard already referring to "bone to bone" and having pain for nearly a month later without playing basketball is definitely a concern.

Clowney and T Mac had documented knee injuries that were acute problems. Dwight reports a wear and tear onset of symptoms. I see this everyday. You can have this issue in only 2 areas of your knee. When Dwight starts having swelling then it will be a problem. He says he has to make sure this problem doesn't happen again. If he had Clowneys's injury he would have no control over the pain. Look man..people pay me a lot of money to fix this stuff daily.

This is devastating news if true. Dwight will never be the same again.

This usually only happens to really old people, when the meniscus (or whatever it's called; i.e. the lubricant between the joints) wears down. Also you usually have something known as "cartiledge" between those knee bones. You don't heal from this. You retire.

Dwight is like TMac they both exaggerate a ton when talking to the press.....I doubt it is bone on bone, that would require a lot more than rest.

Yeah, at first I didn't think so, but then he said this:

"When you have the bone rubbing on bone it just brings a lot of pain. Every step or every movement I was making created friction from the bones rubbing together, and it literally started a fire in my knee. I didn't want to put myself or my teammates through that by trying to play through that. I could have caught somebody on fire while boxing out and that would have been dangerous."

well, stuff like this is bound to happen sooner or later when you give up on seasons and invest in 2016..or 2018..or 2070 with the new robot NBA players.
