I guess we will see what he looks like Saturday. If his knee really does have significant cartilage wear and tear I would hope he gets games off as the season moves on. That will help a ton with the knee. I'm guessing he will be getting knee surgery in the offseason too.
Not good news for Dwight or Rox if true. Dwight's game is the type of game that wasn't going to age well anyway because he is so dependent on athleticism. Hoping Dmo can continue to further his development down low. Jones is another question mark right now in the front court as well. Capela looks to be a looooong ways away as well. Black and Dorsey will have to continue to play heavy rotation minutes it appears.
I think its a case of reduced cartilage which the doctor will call bone on bone, but isnt Brandon Roy Kobe has been in that situation for 4 years now
I was worried about this. To me, he just didn't look like like he had that same bounce to his step. I had mentioned that he didn't look as athletic as last season, but you guys didn't seem so concerned... So I just assumed I was over thinking it.
Remember back when Dwight first missed a game because of his knee I said I was scared? When it comes to knees. I always panic. I don't think this means that Dwight can't still be a great player. He has to be more careful with his body. As for Morey...I now know why we are looking for a third superstar. Dwight may be on the decline. I'm sure though he can still be a great starting Center in the NBA. Lets just hope that Dwight is over-exaggerating his injury.
So I looked into the procedure that Dwight went through a couple weeks ago, which was a platelet-rich plasma injection. Kobe, Tiger Woods, Rafael Nadal have also gone under this treatment. I think it is a relatively new procedure. Success of the treatment varies in clinical studies. However, proponents of the procedures claim that failures of PRP injection are in due to poor procedures early on in testing. We'll have to see how it goes. The fact that he's coming back this early does seems positive. http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00648
We only have Dwight's words, not official diagnosis statement. Best scenario, Dwight didn't know what he's talking about. Worst scenario, Dwight inadvertently leaked something the FO would rather keep secret. Likely scenario, it could be something bad but not confirmed yet. Cartilage issues sounds bad. Brandon Roy 2.0?
