They also need to be pushing Bynum to sign an extension in Orlando if they are gonna do a 1 for 1. This sounds like more BS to up Houston's offer.

 

Whatever happens happens.

Though before, LA supposedly didn't have the picks, didn't have any young pieces to send back, and neither Bynum or Dwight would commit long term to Orlando and LA respectively. Ehh, is what it is.

 

THIS is what I hope transpires, Bynum to HOU, dwight to la, Martin, one rook, draft pick considerations and a thank you to ORL

As long as dwight is the Lakers problem or anyone elses im happy. If we are involved and land bynum while giving away our picks and a few of our young guys then its ok. IMO the best route rockets should do is avoid this dwight drama this offseason, play out and see the potential of our new guys, and sign bynum for max next year. A true rocket fan would still go to games even though we don't have a superstar. Lin would fill half the seats by himself anyways

 

I hope if we do end up facilitating Dwight to LA, we don't end up with Gasol along with Bynum. As has been talked about many times, Bynum makes Gasol essentially ineffective. If we are the third team in this deal, wouldn't we still have to take back all of Orlando's bad contracts? Or could LA handle one of them?

If Dwight agrees to an extension*...I could see the Lakers being open to dealing Bynum + Gasol. They did just sign Antwan Jamison, and could probably take back Glen Davis as well.

I do agree, I'm ready for this circus to end.

*leaves money on the table versus signing a new 5 years deal...but he can't promise the 5 year contract now without violating the CBA

If we take on any bad contracts for Bynum, then it's not worth it. Prospects, Picks, and bad contracts should be reserved Dwight, otherwise, let the young guns play.
