I will lose fanship for the teams I respect if they sign any of these 3 for more than their worth ($12 m / yr. at most). It's offensive to fans to overvalue players so much, especially since are stars (none will ever be the 1st or 2nd option on a championship team, imo).

Marc Gasol is the most promising talent, obviously, but to pay him $15m a year is ridiculous imo.

I see three toxic contracts that three teams are going to regret. Let's hope the Rockets aren't one of those teams.

5 million a year for the guy that got us Courtney Lee?

We are talking about 15+ for Gasol, 11 and 7...

Nah, that's just the maximum dollar amount for each guy. Max salary is based on years of experience, which is why Chandler is able to get more money than Gasol.

I like those 3 players as much as the next guy but their name is not DHoward. Until it is none of them deserve that kind of money. I'm willing to pay alot for all of them but not that kind of money. I hope Morey is not so stupid as to overpay for any of them.

If Gasol gets away from Z-Bo, his productivity will go up. I see him as an 18/10 guy on another team. It's hard for a C to put up numbers next to a PF who dominates the ball and the boards. Gasol is also coming into the prime of his career. Chandler and Nene won't get any better and are going downhill.

I dunno how much I buy into all of this right now. Since free agency hasn't officially started.

wow...DeAndre just moved up on my list, but I think he will still be cheap enough for the Clippers to match...

We should consider making Deandre Jordan our higher priority.

He rejected an offer that came to an average of 15mil/yr. This would be a contract that starts at 14.7mil.

Chandler's funny. Even for an agent's initial, pure BS number it's funny.

No way in hell i pay over 10 mil for any of these guys. I've been at the front of the we need a true center bandwagon, but overpaying for guys that still won't get us close to a title makes no sense.

I don't get the Marc Gasol fascination, he's a good center, but not a true difference maker. A solid rebounder and shot blocker, and a solid low post scorer, solid isn't worth 15 million, haven't the owners learned anything.

Nene is the best of the 3, but I get the feeling he'll eat his way out of the league once he gets paid. Plus Nene doesn't win us a title, or even come close.

DeAndre Jordan is cheaper,a better shot blocker and rebounder. I'd much rather take Dalembert that one of these expensive guys.

Nuke it, trade for Paul or Howard without an extension guaranteed. If they leave start over. We need a Star or a really high draft pick, hovering around the 8th seed every year is the worst possible place to be.

Believe me, I don't think any of those guys deserve that kind of money. But if someone was to ask for that, it'd be Gasol, since he's the best out of all 3.

IMHO its really easy to say start over, but the truth is nobody wants to do it, or experience starting over. Cleveland started over last season, and I don't think anybody is saying how awesome they are, and they lucked out with two top 5 picks. Charlotte's tanking ways are being discussed in the other thread, and I don't think people are predicting championships in their near future. Memphis spent almost half a decade doing the tankathon, and at the end of the day what do they have to show for it? Nothing, I don't think anybody sees them winning anything in the near future, and they could actually be back to lottery land if Gasol leaves.

We have Morey, he's proven can acquire good players at will.

Our entire roster has been composed out of scratch, without a big FA or high draft pick.

It's the great players we can't seem to get. Morey can keep us competitive if thats what you want, eventually we need the stud. Right now it seems all of Todays stars are punks who want to team up, so i say take a risk on a rental, maybe convince him to stay. Or luck out on a high pick. I don't think any stars are gonna come here of their own free will unless another star is in place.

Morey can replenish good players if losing our assets is your concern.

I'd overpay for Gasol at $15M. No way I give Hilario or Chandler those insane numbers.
