A crush on dominque? You and about another million guys who ever laid eyes on her. She has the most kissable lips of any news babe out there. Sounds like you were right on the edge of getting a date or being a stalker Scottie P is one of the last original Rockets. I believe all that remains now is Yao and Moochie because he was traded back to Houston. I wish Scott the best in Phx. He always played hard for the Rockets and gave his all for the team. I guess this means T-Mac lost his secret weapon from last year. Do you guys remember how they would hook up for last second shots last year? Scott won a few games for us.
If you mean Elvis, I saw him at the grocery store this morning. Ya, we could use Padgett. They must have some good ideas about who they're going to have on the team, though, to let him go. I'm sure the Suns didn't pay too much.
There really wasn"t a spot for Padgett on the team this year. He's a good guy, I'm happy he found a job.
He could have picked up his option for another year, but he chose not too [ Vin Baker was quick to pick up his option for 3.8 Mil ]. I hope Scotty made more money playing for the Suns. Because we have a number of players they can have. I figure them signing our cast-offs make us get better and them get worse.
They have one player--Ginobili--who is a borderline all-star. The "supersquad" is an endearing term which doesn't speak of the talent level--our supersquad is a collection of career benchwarmers
There was a stretch there where he seemed automatic from three-point range. He won a few ballgames for us. Strange ... if we were going to give a 2-year deal to Padgett or Bowen, I would have easily assumed it would be Padgett.
We have Larry Bird on our team? I knew Ryan Bowen looked familiar. I guess he's Bird disguised as Ryan Bowen, huh?
It was silly to boo Beltran. The fans acted like a bunch of jilted lovers. I loved Beltran but he didn't love me back. He left me, waaaahhhhh!!!
What was unusual about the way he left? He was a free agent and he signed with the team that he thought was the best situation for him
Or more precisely: He took the highest offer, then said it wasn't about money, and threw in a lie about a no-trade clause for good measure.
The best situation usually is about money. Success is often measured by how much we make and most people consider the "pay" factor before any other factor. He went to the team that offered him the better contract. If he had said: "I went to the Mets because they offered me more" you or anybody else would have twisted it as: "He's a money hungry athlete". Instead he was low key and modest about it and he didn't boast about how much he was making
Drayton McLane bungled that whole negotiation. I don't know why he has a GM if he's gonna but in on every detail. Thank God that Les Alexander isn't a meddler like McLane is.
McLane admitted he did not offer Beltran a no trade clause like the one he had just given to Andy Pettitte. Quit buying McLane's tired excuses.
If you want to believe we don't have Beltran right now because of a no-trade clause...go ahead. Boras jerked us around and took us up to the deadline, effectively tieing our hands. We should've handled it differently, but that doesn't mean Beltran, through Boras, didn't jerk us around. Fact is, Beltran's team is looking up at ours in the standing. Fact is, only one of the two teams would be in the playoffs if they started today. Back to basketball, the loss of Padgett does make a 3-point specialist that much more of a priority, and I don't think there's a better one on the market than Jon Barry.
If you want to believe the only guy with a reason to lie in this situation go ahead. Why would Beltran care if we got pissed or not? McLane bungled that deal the day he fired Hunsicker and let Pugsley Adams become his lapdog. Purpura announced that he had given a final offer to Beltran only to have Drayton contradict him the very next day. If Drayton had stayed out of the mess and let his GM handle it. It probably would have never gone on as long as it did and we wouldn't have been left with egg on our faces. I agree that we are going to need Barry's stroke from the 3 point line even more now.
