Marbury is not better than Iverson. Marbury can't play D for crap. Great on the offensive end, but I would take Iverson overall. Then a second point that doesn't have to do with what Sane said but with what pisses me off about Steve and Cat haters. Sure they have their flaws, but those 2 guys have great personalities, they are great team players, they are great in the community, and they don't have an complexes like some of the other superstars in the league. I will always say we are lucky to have them here.
Francis is no question a better scorer than Marbury(just lookin at their ppg and even fg%!!!!!!!!!) better rebounder for sure and more talented( can marbury even dunk????)
I don't really care what everyone thinks about my comments but if I were in that damb game I would have intentioinally tried to hurt Marbury. I think he's a street baller not an NBA player and he's a player that needs a good ass woopin. tHE LITTLE F_C_ER MADE ME SO mad last night. I swear I was hoping he would fall on his big ol head and get a concussioin or something!
MARBURY IS A LOSER!!!!!!!!! HE HAS MORE THAN FOUR MILLION PEOPLE PLUS MINNESOTA WHO HATES HIM! He is a pretty good player and is very strong. BUT WHAT?!?!? He's not an All Star...cuz no one likes him! He has a bad attitude. He is never going to be an All Star if he continues to make all these stupid comments. It doesn't matter. We won.
Referring to Marbury's quote after the Rucker ship - I thought it was funny to think of the similarities between him and Franchise. I can give it to Marbury. He grew up in Coney Island. He's got the proverbial "urban balla" persona down flat. Francis, on the other hand, is a guy who makes me laugh. He's so...damn I don't know. You seen his clothes - baggy, "look-at-me-i'm-a-gangsta," that commercial he had with silkk the shocker where he's ballin it up on a houston street...but it doesn't seem to match. First off all, he didn't grow up in DC (although I'm sure he was there often.) He grew up in Silver spring, outside of DC. And I swear somewhere I read that he went to blair high School. Blair is one of the richest schools in the MD area. This is a suburb boy! I know it is off topic, but I just had to say this, cause I just realized it.
hey finalsbound,, steve usually dresses up pretty decent,, and if he's doing a street commercial, offcourse he' going to wear baggy clothes,, I dont' see why it makes you laugh?? we should be more concerned with their games,, and btw,, I'd NEVER EVER give up Francis for Marbury..
There's no way that he deserves to be put on the same level as Francis in anyway. Francis actually does help his team, even when there was minimal other talent on the team (no, I'm not saying that's the case this year). He's faster, more explosive, a better scorer and rebounder, more mature of course, and just a better leader. Even if Marbury didn't have such a w**** of a personality, I'd still much rather have Francis personally. Not just a biased opinion either, I used to be a Marbury fan from his rookie season, and am still at least a rest-of-the-Suns fan, but I've lost all respect for him. He's still a great player, don't get me wrong, but he still pales in comparison to a good many of the star gaurds in the West.
The only reason that Marbury is "leading" a successful team this year is because he's finally surrounded with as much or more talent than he was with on Minnesota in his rookie season (the last "successful" team he was with). And how could you say that Francis might not have as good of an offense? Francis' is tons better! But I won't get into that, it should pretty much be a given...
WOAH! Francis was born 1 day after Stephon Marbury! That's kinda nifty... hehe, sorry, just thought I'd throw that in. On that note, kinda sux that Francis came into the league at the same age as Marbury 3 years later... lost so many good years. Heh heh.
marbury grew up in the projects. i think he went through a lot of sh*t when he was younger. i remember when he was in HS, they were already talking about him and back then, he was still kinda humble but once he got to the NBA and the dough, his ego just took over. when he was with jersey, he was yelling at everyone. he had no patience at all. in fact, i don't think he's got any real friends in the NBA. if the suns start playing poorly, he's gonna be b****ing to no end. he seems like one of those guys that always blames others for his problems.
that's funny. but the worst dresser next to shaq is gotta be charles oakley. sometimes you have to brings shades so that you don't get blinded by oakley's suit.
I thought Francis was talking about how Olajuwon made him dress classier by hitting him hard when he said Francis looked like a "bus driver" in his raggedy outfit.
When KG and Marbury were teammates in Minn, I used to think, 'Man that Garnett is a show-off and Marbury is the quiet reserved one.' Boy things change. KG is a true professional. I've seen him hustle his @$$ even when his team had no chance of winning. Marbury is turning into a typical NBA spoiled punk. I don't know if you all saw 20/20 last week. They actually interviewed him. Yeah , yeah he grew up in poverty, yeah yeah his mom worked three jobs, yeah, yeah his brothers had talent but never got to the NBA. I know pro ball players have money, and he's definitely not the first one to go off and buy everything and anything, but he really came across as a cocky SOB. Not grateful that fans put him where he is. No class, no grace about him. Barry Bonds of NBA. At least Bonds dominate his game and took his team to the World Series.
