    Stephon Marbury is a nutcase.

And I can't help but feel that he does have a point here. There's nothing he has stated that can be disputed, actually -- he is in fact in a contract year, and Mike D'Antoni obviously came into New York with preconceptions about him and never even bothered to give him a chance at redemption under the new system. If I were him I'd be balking too -- "now that all your guards are injured you want me to come play and pretend like I'm still a part of this team?"

That said, Stephon made this bed and now he's lying in it. He deserves a good deal of blame for ending up in this situation, even if he is being treated unfairly now by everyone including the media.

Someone shot him in his foxhole? Someone should shoot him in the A hole.

What the hell is he talking about foxhole this foxhole that? I hate it when athletes make war references when there're real soldiers out there putting their lives on the line. F_ck Marbury. If he joins the Rockets I'm going to quit watching. I swear. They can witn 60 in a row and he could be averaging 81 ppg and I won't care.

You get paid 20+ mil a year you do your job.

I also reluctantly agree, we need his scoring for 3 reasons, T-Mac may shut it down for a while, Artest/Francis haven't been cutting it so far this year, and the Mavs have been the first to step up and admit having interest in signing him post-buyout...

Only problem is how the hell would we come up with the cash for him. If he wants anything close to what he was making I dont know of any team that can take that on unless he takes a major cut. I haven't seen him play in so long I couldn't even put a price on him at this point.

I think Morey will have a look. It would be a low risk move if he's willing to be unselfish to compete for a championship. I mean can he honestly be any worse than Rafer?

After earning $21 million, I think he would be willing to take a paycut and compete for a championship. He can clear up his name and if he has success here, come offseason his stock will go right back up. If Marbury plays smart that is..

No he can't be worse then Rafer but do we have room for another head case on this team and I'm not talking the Luther Head type.

Well after the buyout, he really won't be that concerned with a typical FA payday. He'll play for whatever team he wants to play for at a minimum salary because the Knicks will be floating the rest of the bill (ala Portland paying Francis' salary to play for us and Dallas paying Finley's salary to play for SA).

But, you're right, how do we fit another player in under the cap on a team with 2 max players. It all comes down to Les paying a luxury tax to get a player that he believes would put us over the top. But, on the flipside, would Marbury even want to play on a team with this many health problems to our stars? Does he view us as a sinking ship? I would...

A broken clock is still right two times each day...

...As much as I think the guy is a nutcase, I think he is right here.

They treated him wrong, and had ZERO interest in playing him, trading him, buying him out, etc. But when they need him, he's expected to help them out like they "helped" him out? No thanks. Fine me 400K, I'm earning 21 mil - 400K.

Why would you sit him? Can't be for professional reasons. He's able to play, he's better than half the dudes on your roster, but he sits. They made it personal. If you wanted to punish the guy, give him a bench spot, but at least play him. Play him 10 minutes a game, but play him.

Maybe I don't know the whole story, but of what I know, I think many people would do the same thing he has. It's not as simple as they asked him to play and he said no.

LOL. Add Marbury to the long list of DD's boys. :D

It is beyond me how some people still want him on the Rockets. I mean, look at his track records. Guys like Langhi, Boki, and Vspan are unproven who at least can claim "potential." What potential does Marbury have, other than a full career of being a loser and malcontent everywhere he goes? What makes you think he will suddenly become a well-behaved winner when he leaves New York?

He has potential to shoot better than our starting PG. ;)

Maybe we should get him cheap and make him look really good on the court then package him with a few others to get a couple of key pieces before the trade deadline.

A pissed-off, out-to-prove-he-can-win Marbury for the league minimum isn't a horrible idea. I'd be exceptionally wary, though, given how much of a cancer he's been during his career. I'm still waiting to read about the first ex-teammate to lament his departure. The Kurt Thomas faceoff alone was a glaring red flag.

His stats may look good, but they cover up a lot of warts. I also don't know that I want someone that manages to be even more disinclined on defense than McGrady is.

It could work out great, or it could be Mike James (2007) part two.

I'd far rather trade for a less-is-more PG like Hinrich.

There is no way I would EVER want this guy to wear a Rockets uniform.

mad respect for most of your opinions but Mebury is the ultimate chemistry killer. His teammates hate him, his coaches hate him and his wife hates him, wouldn't be surprised if that dog he won't let D'antoni walk also hates him. I would be stunned if he is on Morey's radar.

I still agree with Steph here. His comments about his teammates are right on. Why weren't any of them (i.e. Q-Rich) speaking to the media when the coach was clearly putting less talented players on the floor? I can see if Steph came into camp on that bs, but he came in shape and ready to contribute in any way...even off the pine. Now that they don't want to play 48 minutes Steph isn't being a real teammate? It goes both ways....

Steph is a butthole but this is all about the Knicks trying to bully a player into taking a reduced buyout. They want to get rid of him but on their terms. Fight the power Marbury!!!!!!
